For effective ventilation of a room, it is necessary to solve a lot of problems, among which competent air distribution is one of the main ones. The slotted grille is used in air distribution systems in public and industrial premises. Thanks to its discreet design, it can be completely invisible and not spoil the interior. As a rule, the grille is solid and flat, but, depending on the project, a design with sidewalls is possible.

Destination

The slotted ventilation grille has a high degree of induction, suitable for supplying and extracting cold and warm air, while the temperature difference is quickly leveled. Widely used in ventilation, air conditioning and heating systems of various types of residential and industrial premises with a ceiling height of 2.5 to 4 m.

The same device is installed in rooms with strict requirements for comfort and hygiene, for example, in hospital wards. The main functions of such gratings are the uniform distribution of air from the ventilation or heating system throughout the room, as well as the removal of air in the opposite direction, from the room to the ventilation. ventilation systems, and thereforeslotted grille are in high demand, and more often not from personal preferences, but according to fire safety requirements.

Types of slotted gratings

There are three main types of slotted gratings:

  • АРС – supply slotted regulating grilles designed for supply and uniform distribution of air in various types of premises through ventilation and air conditioning systems with constant and variable air flow. Provides stable air flow in cooling mode. Equipped with perforated flaps and rotary louvers to control the air flow in the range from 25 to 100%.
  • ALS - supply unregulated slotted grate, without rotary shutters.
  • ABC - exhaust grilles without dampers and blinds.

These designs can have a complex T-shaped or angular shape. Supply slotted gratings are used in combination with static pressure chambers (PSC). Exhaust slotted grille АВС is mounted in a set with an air flow regulator (CSR). For adjustable supply grilles, the use of KSR is impractical, since the air flow is controlled by dampers and shutters. All grilles are mounted at the level of the false ceiling, joining the air ducts.

Design

The slotted grating consists of an aluminum body, on which there are horizontal holes in the amount from 1 to 6. A cylindrical roller is mounted inside the body, with whichairflow direction adjustment.

As a rule, slotted grilles are used with plenums, which allow to stabilize the flow and regulate the air flow. The slot width varies from 8 to 25 mm. The length of the lattice can be from 2 cm to 3 m (if necessary, stacked structures are used, which allows them to be mounted in a line of any shape).

Slotted gratings are characterized by high induction, excellent aerodynamics and attractive design. These devices allow you to quickly heat the air flows, reduce the noise level of the ventilation system, eliminate drafts and the formation of stagnant zones. They are mounted in suspended ceilings or wall structures, almost invisible in the interior. The minimum mounting height is 2.5 m.

Slotted cast iron grate

A separate type of fixture that is not related to ventilation or air conditioning is cast-iron slotted gratings used in drainage systems. Such gratings are a detail of the exterior of a certain area with surface drainage. They are made of cast iron, which is close in strength to steel, and can be used even in areas with vehicular traffic and a load of 25 tons per square meter. They cover drainage trays made of concrete, plastic, polymer concrete, and other materials. Manufactured by injection molding with different load class.

These gratings keep storm drains and other surface drainage systems free of blockages. They are indispensable in the spring, when, after the snow melts, a variety of debris is carried into the drainage channels by water flows: soil, branches, leaves and other debris (all this is retained by cast-iron drainage grates).
