In the north-west of the city of Tula, at a distance of 60 kilometers, stands the ancient city of Aleksin. It is located on the opposite banks of the Oka at the confluence of the river Mordovka. It is a large industrial city of the Tula region, which experienced its second birth during the first five-year plans of the USSR. Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant (AOMZ), which has a rich history, is located in this city.

The city of Aleksin is divided by the Oka River into two parts, which are connected by a bridge. The older part is called Zarechye, the new one is called Sotsgrad. The latter owes its birth to the industrial settlements Vysokoye, Petrovskoye, and Myshega located in the area.

A railway runs through the city, stretching from Vyazma through Tula in the direction of Ryazhsk. With its regional center Aleksin, in addition to the ironroads, connected by a highway, which, in turn, joins the Moscow-Simferopol highway.

Short description

The main industrial center of the city - Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant, boasts a rich and glorious centuries-old history. At present, the main direction of this enterprise is the production of high-tech non-standard equipment. Its manufacture is carried out, among other things, from materials provided by customers. To solve these complex problems, AOMZ has concentrated highly qualified specialists on its production, as well as the significant potential of modern processing equipment with great capabilities.

Its production base consists of the following structures:

  • tool production (workshop);
  • boiler and welding production (workshop);
  • preparation production;
  • complex of mechanical assembly structures (workshops);
  • production of electroplated coatings, rubber products, consumer goods.

The full name of the enterprise is OAO Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant. Location: Tula region, city of Aleksin, Metallistov street, 10.

  • deputy general directors: for production - R. B. Lukashin; oncommercial issues - G. A. Kozlov; for security - M. A. Mikhailov; in Economics and Finance – S. V. Zakharov;
  • chief accountant - E. I. Ryabova.

The history of the origin of the plant

Initially, the future Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant was built as a factory for the production of mirrors. It owes its birth to the Moscow glass-melting society. The place near the city of Aleksina was chosen because there was raw material for glass production here. Moreover, its production at local coal mines was successfully combined with the presence of Konshinsky railways. d. access roads. They belonged to one of the first privately owned railways in Russia. The plant was founded in January 1898.

The start of the journey

In 1915, during the First World War, the mirror factory was redesigned for the first time and leased by the military department, which created an artillery workshop on its basis.

The new tasks of the enterprise were to repair artillery, transport equipment, as well as artillery boxes. At that time, a large number of people worked at the plant, almost 1300 people. To ensure the fulfillment of tasks, the existing factory premises and machines were converted into metalworking processes. Furnaces that used to smelt glass have begun to smelt metals.

During the NEP, after in Russiathe civil war ended, the enterprise was redesigned again. It began to produce agricultural machinery. As a result of the changes carried out, the production of plows, harrows, winnowing machines, horse mowers began. The plant carried out their current and major repairs.

1936 was a new milestone for the Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant (AOMZ). It was again re-equipped for the production of new products, namely, mechanical equipment. A new turn led to the fact that the plant has become a significant enterprise for equipping existing and under construction enterprises of the USSR military-industrial complex. For their needs, AOMZ began to produce special technological equipment.

During the 2nd World War, the territory where the plant was located fell into the zone of occupation by German troops. The village was seriously destroyed due to mortar shelling. Factory buildings were also damaged. But before the enemy came here, the main part of the machines and other valuable equipment was evacuated. After the Tula region was liberated, the removed machines were returned, and the plant continued to perform tasks in the interests of the USSR military-industrial complex.

Post-war years

After the end of the Second World War, the company again changed the direction of its activities. The plant began to produce chemical equipment, as well as a line of consumer goods. The enterprise began to carry out and produce non-standard machine tools and other technological devices.

In 1953, it became known as the Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant. Along with the name changeits next re-profiling into metalworking and mechanical assembly production was also carried out.

From the mid-sixties of the last century, during the period when the active re-equipment of the industry producing gunpowder and mixed solid rocket fuel (STRT) began, the Aleksin Experimental Mechanical Plant turned out to be the only enterprise that could produce large-sized equipment in demand. It was intended to mechanize and automate the production of these products.

Development period

Due to the increase in production volumes, the factory area has increased significantly. New production facilities were built. The social infrastructure has also begun to develop actively. The plant built houses for sports and life, as well as other socially significant facilities in the city of Aleksin.

In the eighties of the last century, the plant continued to increase its production level. The existing fleet of equipment has been significantly improved. The renewal process affected the forging and stamping and metalworking industries. Advanced robotic machines were successfully introduced, as well as complexes with numerical control.

Difficult times

Difficult times have come at the plant with the collapse of the USSR.

Aleksinsky plant has completely switched to the production of civilian products. The enterprise began to produce equipment in the interests of the agro-industrial complex and the construction industry.industry, as well as to provide fire extinguishing systems.

The social sphere of the plant was transferred to the balance of the local municipality, which had a negative impact on the state of life support of the residential factory quarters. Wage arrears to employees of the enterprise began to appear. The number of customers began to decline. The staff of JSC "Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant" of the plant was reduced from several thousand to a modest 500 people.

Start of revival

With the beginning of the 2000s, the situation began to improve. Orders appeared through the military-industrial complex. The number of orders for the manufacture of products in the interests of the civil sphere began to increase. The staff of JSC "Aleksinsky Experimental Mechanical Plant" began to increase. Now the company employs about 8,000 employees.
