The Carnegie Endowment, in addition to Moscow, has many embassies located in different countries. The main office is located in Washington. During its existence, the Moscow center managed to change several managers.

The first to take the reins was Peter Fisher, who headed the Carnegie Moscow Center from 1993 to 1994. His leadership was the shortest. Then Richard Burger was appointed manager, who held this position from 1994 to 1997.

In 1997, Scott Brackner took over the reins of power, who was replaced in 1999 by Alan Russo, who in turn was replaced in 2001 by Robert Nurik. In 2003, the fund was headed by Andrew Kuchins. In 2006 he was replacedRose Gottemoeller, and from 2008 to the present day it has been headed by the current director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, Dmitry Trenin. The organization employs about thirty employees.

The main areas of research activity are political changes, the formation of benevolent interstate relations in the Middle East and Central Asia.

Enabling collaboration between scientists and policy makers, the Carnegie Endowment makes available solutions to many social problems, both internal and external.

It also conducts its own publishing activities. The journals, articles, monographs and periodicals published by the organization are published in Russian and English. With the help of the Russian center, our scientists are being assisted in realizing their enormous scientific potential. This is achieved through the professionalism and experience of the participants in the West Eurasian Program,created in Washington.

The Carnegie Moscow Center has developed several lines of action. Important are the programs on foreign policy and security, issues of society and regional governance. Changes in the economic situation, energy and climate problems are also being considered, and other equally important socio-political programs are being developed.

The Carnegie Endowment in Russia deals with the most important problems for modern society. These are the domestic and foreign policy of Russia, the economic situation in the regions and countries of the post-Soviet space. Particular attention in the work of the center is paid to the most problematic regions - Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.

The position of the organization in relation to various social and political issues is completely neutral. The Carnegie Center is completely lacking in any particular political or social direction. This is directly related to the fact that he maintains complete neutrality and considers conflict situations without prejudice, doing everything possible to resolve them as soon as possible.

In the building, located on Tverskaya street, there is a library available to the public. Periodically, various events are organized there to maintain peace.

The Carnegie Endowment is a worldwide research organization. It was founded in 1910. The Foundation has sufficient funding, and this gives it the opportunity to conduct extensive research activities.
