Neftekamsk Automobile Plant Open Joint Stock Company is one of the leading Russian manufacturers of passenger buses. The second direction of the enterprise is the assembly of heavy dump trucks, tanks and trailers on the basis of KamAZ.

History

In the 70s, after the construction of the auto giant KamAZ, it was decided to build satellite enterprises near Naberezhnye Chelny, which produce components. The construction of the Neftekamsk Automobile Plant began on 1972-13-07. It was planned to produce dump trucks and winches here.

The first dump truck of the KAMAZ-5511 series was assembled in 1977, over the next 5 years more than 100,000 units were produced. Since 1981, shift buses have been manufactured.

In 1993, NefAZ became a joint stock company. The first city bus model 5299 rolled off the assembly line in 2001. In the mid-2000s, the enterprise established close contacts with the Dutch-Belgian concern VDL, which became interested in the production of modern models of public transport in Russia. An important step was the creation of the NefAZ-52992 electric bus with a range of 200km. Environmentally friendly electric transport in the future can replace buses with internal combustion engines.

Bus manufacturing

Neftekamsk Automobile Plant with a capacity of 1,000 buses a year is located on an area of 20,000 m2. All workshops are equipped with modern, mostly imported equipment. It uses advanced European-level technologies to produce high-quality products.

The NefAZ car plant in Neftekamsk stands out for its high production culture. Employees are provided with comfortable uniforms and protective equipment, cosmetic repairs have been carried out in the workshops. Strict control in the field of labor protection allows minimizing injuries, increasing the fire safety of the enterprise.

Structure

Let's get acquainted with the structure of the enterprise. Neftekamsk Automobile Plant consists of four production facilities:

• preparatory;
• welding;
• painting;
• assembly.

Technology

The quality of parts and blanks is the basis for the manufacture of high-tech products. On the German and Italian cutting machines used in blank production, workpieces are obtained with high accuracy in linear and angular dimensions.

Galvanized steel roll is used for the outer cladding of the frame. Unwinding the roll and straightening the plane of the workpieces is carried out on a 23-roll straightening machine. The equipment allows you to get very flat body planes, which has a positive effect on convenience.mounting and coloring quality.

Frame structures are welded on specialized stands designed by the plant's engineers. Chassis at the request of customers can be equipped with engines KAMAZ (Euro-2), DAF (Euro-3) or Caterpillar (Euro-3).

Assembly and welding of the right and left halves of buses is carried out on special stocks. The final assembly is carried out on the assembly stand. The internal cavities of the pipes are filled with corrosion-resistant materials that guarantee a 10-year protection of internal surfaces.

Products

Neftekamsk Automobile Plant assembles seven main models and 24 modifications of buses. Among them:

• tourist;
• long distance;
• urban;
• suburban;
• electric;
• in northern version;
• for people with disabilities.

According to special order, anti-slip flooring has been developed for all models. The engine compartment is separated from the passenger compartment by vibration and noise-absorbing panels. The driver's workplace is thought out to the smallest detail. Today, every third Russian large-class bus is produced in Neftekamsk.

Heavy dump trucks

JSC "Neftekamsk Automobile Plant" is part of the KamAZ group of companies, so it is logical that the assembly of special cargo vehicles is organized on its basis:

• tank trucks for transportation of petroleum products;
• dump trucks;
• body trailers and semi-trailers of variousdestination;
• snowplows;
• auto parts, components, assemblies.

Dump truck complex covers an area of 105,000 m2. Over 50 cars roll off the NefAZ assembly line every day. Every day, the plant needs 240-260 tons of metal to manufacture components.

Assembly and welding of platforms is carried out on flow-mechanized lines. Their carrying capacity is 23,000 units per year. General welding of subframes, supports and bodies takes place at the test site. Here, the advanced method of robotic welding and multi-point contact machines are actively used.

Machining parts is carried out on automated lines. Cutting, forming, drawing blanks are done on a unique multi-component press unit, which can be quickly reconfigured for a specific product. An important production process is the manufacture of hydraulic lifting mechanisms. They are tested on a special stand with multiple excess of design loads.

Today NafAZ is a modern and promising enterprise. Cooperation within the framework of the KamAZ concern with European partners makes it possible to apply the most advanced technologies in production. The plant intends to increase the production of buses and special trucks.
