Kazakh horse belongs to the steppe breeds. Her homeland is Kazakhstan. It is believed that her ancestors were Asian wild horses. As early as the fifth century BC. e. the breed was influenced by the Arabian, Mongolian, thoroughbred English, Don trotter and others.
There are two types of horses of the Kazakh breed: Adaevsky and Jabe. The first is intended for riding, and the second is grown as meat - its live weight reaches 500 kg.
History of Appearance
In the first millennium BC, in the times of Western Asia, when it was inhabited by Saka tribes, people were breeding horses. Ancient historians said that the children of local tribes knew how to ride horses better than walk. The whole life of the nomadic people was based on horse breeding. Kazakh horses provided a great advantage in battle, the processing of horse breeding products contributed to the development of crafts. The population received everything necessary for life from animals.
Kazakh horses were used for riding as pack animals. They gave koumiss, meat. In those days, saki bred long-legged tall and largewith wide-legged animals. Each type had its own purpose. The former were used in combat, while the latter were grown for meat.
What kinds are there?
The Kazakh breed of horses is represented by two types: jabe (jebe) and adaev. The latter is a fast-footed horses. This variety has been most influenced by English. The subspecies has a height in the hill of 145 cm, walks well under the saddle. Adaev is famous for his lightness and lively temperament. This is an elegant animal, bay, yellow, white color. Sometimes this horse is reproached for its light bones. Representatives of the breed are used for riding, on the run. They lend themselves well to training, look beautiful in the arena.
Another kind of Kazakh horse - jabe - are hardy, stubborn animals adapted to life in the harsh conditions of the Kazakh climate. To improve the breed, animals were mixed with Don trotters, which helped to improve the appearance of the jebe. The species is grown mainly for meat. Their weight reaches 500 kilograms.
Jebe is not big, about 140 cm. There are red, mouse colors. The head is large, heavy, muscular, short neck.
In the summer, both species tolerate heat well, can do without water for a long time. In winter, they grow long hair, which helps animals survive in any conditions.
Where does it meet?
The breed of the Kazakh riding horse ranks ninth in the world in terms of territory and is distributed in several natural areas.
In the south-west of the country in deserts and semi-desertsbred Adaevsky species. In the harsh conditions of the local climate, no other breed can survive. And these animals with a dry consistency are able to do without water for a long time, eating dry grass. Adayevtsy perfectly adapt to stony soils, which helps in overcoming long distances.
Jebe is grown in the central part of the country. These powerful representatives of the breed are hardy, strong, and can travel long distances.
In mountainous Kazakhstan, in the east, there are horses of the East Kazakh breed. They are similar to the mountain representatives, but have a lower stature. This species easily finds its way through rocky terrain, easily making its way along rocky steeps. These animals are said to be able to intuitively find their way through mountain passes.
Interesting facts
The Kazakh horse shown in the photo is considered the first variety of such animals tamed by man. During the Neolithic period, during the period of migration of peoples from southeastern Europe to northern Kazakhstan, tribes came who brought with them a domestic horse, a cow. This is evidenced by archaeological sites in the Pavlodar region, at the sites of Tselinnaya and Botai.
Horses, like people, have well-developed senses: hearing, sight, touch, taste, smell. Animals have another sense - heightened susceptibility or intuition.
Kazakh horses are extremely devoted to a sense of duty and are not able to leave their owners, leave their offspring. While riding, a feeling developsbalance, coordination improves, blood pressure normalizes, mental state. It is believed that in this way it is even possible to recover from pulmonary pathologies.
Breed productivity
The jabe type is famous for its productivity. He has a lethal yield of almost 60%, milk production - up to 10 kilograms per day. The taste qualities of horse meat obtained from Kazakh horses are high. This breed is different from others, whose meat has a mediocre taste.
Contents
The Kazakh look is designed for a lot of space. They are raised in difficult conditions. The Kazakhs were originally nomads, and they did not build stables, did not prepare animal feed. The horses were kept outdoors and without any partitions.
Throughout the history of horse breeding, horses were kept in the open air on free grazing. The animals were looking for their own food. The same method is widely practiced to this day.
When breeding breeds in stables, there is no need to heat the room, to provide thermal insulation. The Kazakh breed is ideally adapted to the most severe climatic conditions of free keeping - even in frost of minus 30, horses feel comfortable without additional shelter.
Adaevsky subtype is more demanding on the conditions of detention. They need protection from severe frosts.
Kazakh horses are not demanding in nutrition. They are adapted to life in the semi-desert and desert and are happy with any food, which will be obtained. For animals, vegetables, fruits, oats will be a real paradise. The horse will be grateful for such food.
Breed advantages
The Kazakh breed of horses shown in the photo is considered a typical aboriginal variety with optimal characteristics for the area where it is grown. For horse breeders, it is not of particular interest. The breed is known in Russia only because Kazakhstan was part of the USSR for a long time. Outside the post-Soviet space, the breed is of no interest to anyone, since it does not have any outstanding characteristics. At home, the animal is valued for the following:
- Stamina. Horses are able to travel long distances without compromising he alth. This quality allows them to be used for sports. Horses can handle the traction load, which is why they are used by local residents to transport cargo.
- Adaptation to heat, cold. The steppes of Kazakhstan are hot in summer and cold in winter. Horses are used to these conditions. This feature made the animals ideal for keeping in the conditions of the Far North of the Russian Federation, in the southern regions of the country.
- Undemanding to the conditions of detention. It would be difficult to find a breed that could easily endure keeping outdoors all year round. In summer, animals graze, and in winter they are fed with hay.
- Good productivity. The Kazakh breed showed itself well among the slaughter output and average milk yields. These animals are the main sourcemeat, milk.
Flaws
The disadvantage of the breed lies in the low aesthetic qualities. Bred in regions where koumiss and horse meat are common. The Kazakh horse is used to create a parent stock. Usually, a type of jebe is bred for this purpose, but Adaevsky is grown only where the animal is used for riding.
