Nothing stirs the blood of an avid shopper like discounts, sales and the discount department. We rush headlong to the stores, just seeing the coveted word SALE. It somehow magically affects us, and we sweep away everything necessary and unnecessary from the shelves. However, when the adrenaline drops a little, and we begin to soberly evaluate our purchases, it turns out that the "sale" escape from the supermarket cost us a pretty penny, and things were put in the basket, the quality and serviceability of which we did not even check. What to do? How to return something that was bought at a sale and at a big discount? Is it possible to demand from the seller to replace the item if a discounted product was purchased? Let's try to understand everything in order.
A discounted product can be considered as such if, due to a decrease in demand or the end of the season for it, the seller decides to reduce its cost. In principle, a markdown is the same discount that the seller has the right to make at his own discretion. Many buyers mistakenly believe that the sale of discounted goods occurs when they have a defect or some kind of malfunction. Yes, this is quite possible, but when selling such things, the seller is obliged to notifythis buyer. Or this information should be fully reflected on the label or price tag of the goods, so that those who are coveted by a low cost can adequately assess the situation and decide whether to buy a discounted product or not.
So, the buyer must know that for those things that have undergone a markdown, the same rights apply as for goods of a standard value. These include: the right to warranty service, to return the goods and to exchange them. This applies to those things that were sold in proper quality and were simply put up for sale.
In the case where the markdown was made by the seller due to the fact that the product has obviously known defects or malfunctions, and this was reported to the buyer in writing, these rights are slightly limited. However, if you want to return an item due to a defect that was not specified at the time of purchase, no one can refuse you this. In such a situation, you can demand a refund or exchange of goods for a similar one.
Also, the buyer can return or exchange for any other non-food product within fourteen days from the date of purchase. At the same time, the reason for returning a discounted product can be anything: the color may not suit your interior, or you just realized that you purchased this item purely by accident. It must be remembered that the seller has the right to refuse your requirements if:
- Item has been in use for a long period of time.
- The product has lost its appearance and now cannot be put on display.
- The product has lost its consumer properties and lost its functionality.
- Product has broken seals or broken labels.
- As well as goods from the list specified in official documents, which include complex electrical appliances, underwear, hygiene products and medicines, furniture, jewelry and more.
