Blind embossing is one of the most demanded finishing processes in printing and promotional souvenir production. And this is not surprising. After all, blind embossing can give ordinary products an original, creative and memorable look. Experts unanimously argue that this design method is the most affordable and attractive for finishing products made of polymers, leather, leatherette and many other materials.
Blind embossing, which is based on the principle of forming a relief image by pressing special stamps (blinds) into the surface of the material, allows you to get a wide variety of drawings and patterns, including various inscriptions, monograms, initials, ornaments, emblems, logos, etc.. P. This type of embossing is carried out without the use of printing inks, but in some cases special films are used to give the surface additional gloss and expressiveness.
Embossing dies are clichés made of metal (magnesium, copper, zinc or brass) or polymeric materials. Blind embossing, which forms only a depressed relief, is the complete opposite of relief embossing, which creates relief raised images.
There are two types of blind surface decoration of products - hot stamping and cold stamping. The choice of one or another variety depends primarily on the physical properties of the material on the surface of which the embossing is performed. The pressure of the press regulates the depth of the image, which is determined by the complexity of the required relief and the presence of fine details.
A feature of blind embossing is that it produces only indented colorless images. But, despite this, this type of embossing allows you to turn an ordinary serial product into a real work of printing art. Most often, blind embossing is used in the manufacture of purses, presentation folders, diplomas, bindings of expensive or exclusive books, certificates.
To give products a spectacular and bright appearance in the printing industry, foil stamping is widely used. The essence of this type of embossing is the formation of an image on any printed material (cardboard, leather, paper, plastic, etc.) using a special printing foil. The drawing is also transferredpressing method on special equipment, which is equipped with a press.
Embossing foil is the best alternative to various expensive inks containing precious metals. In any case, the image is no less stylish, spectacular and impressive. As a rule, foil stamping is carried out in a hot way. This method forms the most abrasion-resistant coating. Hot stamping foil is essentially a multi-component metallized film, on which, in most cases, a holographic image is applied. This type of embossing is very often used to protect products from falsification.
