In fact, you can work and earn income on the Internet in various ways - there are many areas in which "there is money." The main thing is to be able to find them by spending a certain amount of your own time and effort.
One of the rather interesting ways to make money on the Internet is traffic arbitrage. What it is and how you can earn on it, we will tell in this article. And in order to make it clearer to readers what is at stake, we will begin to explain in order.
What is traffic?
So, let's start with the general concept of Internet traffic. As you know, the network has a huge number of sites containing this or that information. If we need to read something, perform some action, download some data, we go to the site. For its owner each ofvisitors can be called a general term - traffic. Therefore, summing up, it should be said that traffic is the flow of visitors - people who come to the site.
If we are talking about traffic arbitrage, what it is and where this term is used, then in this situation we should talk about visitors who switched to the resource from an advertisement. Obviously, the more traffic, the more the person who sells it can earn. However, not everything is so simple here: the types of visitors, depending on the criteria for their evaluation, are different.
"Purchased" and "search"
First of all, it should be determined that traffic can be "purchased" and "natural". The first term is used when people who access a site do so through a commercially placed banner ad or popunder window, for example. Its peculiarity is that the person is redirected to the resource for the reason that he was sent there by a technical trick or after he clicked on the link.
The second term, "natural" (or "search") traffic is much more valued. They were dubbed by visitors who come to the site from search networks. This means that such people are more interested in the information posted on the resource. Therefore, they are more likely to make a purchase, sign up, or take another valuable action for the site owner.
When we are interested in making money on the Internet, we can talk about both purchased and searchtraffic. With the first one, you can perform any action - buy, sell or send to some commercial offers of partners; and if you have search traffic, you can sell it depending on what characteristics it has.
Evaluation criteria
You can determine how valuable certain visitors are by analyzing traffic sources. For example, if you're buying impressions on a recipe site, expect the majority of your traffic to be women aged 25-45. To this we add the language of the resource (with its help we can determine from which country the visitors came) and many other factors. Traffic arbitrage (what it is, we will explain in more detail a little later) involves a detailed analysis of these and other features, due to which you can more accurately choose a way to monetize such traffic.
To give you an idea of what we are talking about, let's put it this way: it would be stupid to sell visits from a women's website to a financial portal - only a small part of the people who have switched will really be interested in this. Therefore, they will not bring commercial benefits to the owner of the financial portal.
Traffic arbitrage - general view
Earnings on the Internet on arbitration is carried out as follows. Visitors are bought and sold. This is done through advertising systems, for example, a banner is hung on the portal that sells, and people who click through it are considered as traffic sold to another site.
By buying visitors in this way, the one whoengages in arbitration, can profitably sell them. To do this, you need to redirect people, for example, to the page of an online store. Secondly, today there are many centralized systems for convenient interaction between buyers and sellers of traffic without the need to establish direct contact. With them, everyone can try traffic arbitrage – what is it and how well does it do it.
Thirdly, you can use large advertising networks from search engines like Google Adwords or Yandex. Direct, as well as social media platforms - Facebook Ads, VKontakte advertising and others.
Where to sell?
The same applies to the methods of selling visitors. There are special affiliate programs for accepting SMS payments, sites with pay-per-action based on the CPA model, and many other resources. Choosing which one you should work with is necessary after you decide on the subject of your traffic. In the same place, they often mention the so-called bundles - schemes by which they profitably buy and sell traffic. For example, one of these is the arbitration of telephone traffic. This is when advertising is bought on sites that are visible only to users of mobile browsers. Next, these visitors are directed, for example, to the mobile antivirus installation page.
At one time, mobile traffic arbitrage was very profitable and could bring 200-300% profit per day (according to the reviews of those who did it 3-4 years ago). Now this topic, of course, is less interesting, because too many people have come to it.
The trend is this: the more innovative the approach to arbitrage, the more profit can be made here.
Also most typical are social media advertising acquisition schemes withfurther sending it to affiliate pages of mobile games; buying traffic in search engine networks for commercial offers; placing banners on entertainment sites and redirecting visitors to the page for buying media content (movies, music, games) and so on.
The main thing is to understand: the rapid rise in traffic arbitrage is rather beautiful stories that can be found on the net. Once you buy your first ad, the revenue from user actions on the partner site is more likely to be less than the cost of the purchase. There is only one way out – study.
