Ziyavudin Magomedov is a well-known domestic entrepreneur who heads the board of directors of the Summa group of enterprises. He has large stakes in FESCO, Globalelectroservice, the United Grain Company, and the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port. He is the cousin of Senator Ahmed Bilalov.

Early years

Ziyavudin Magomedov was born in 1968 in Makhachkala. His parents were from an Avar intelligent family. His father was a surgeon and his mother was a teacher. They became students of Moscow State University.

Through the Slavia enterprise controlled by him, Magomedov buys out a controlling stake in Yakutgazprom. The entrepreneur is working on the creation of the Dialogue program, of which he remained the direct leader from 2002 to 2004.

Many of these companies are so successful that analysts even begin to seriously suspect a possible financial collusion between statestructures and companies of the Magomedov brothers. For example, in 2006 the Summa Telecom company won a tender for the distribution of free Internet and telephony in eleven regions of the Trans-Urals at once. Awards and titles

Criminal prosecution

On March 31, 2018, sensational news about the arrest of Ziyavudin Magomedov appeared in the media. It turned out that he was accused of organizing a criminal community and embezzling two and a half billion rubles. The decision to choose a measure of restraint for both brothers was taken by the Tverskoy Court of the Russian capital. It was decided to detain Magomed and Ziyavudin during the investigation.

In announcing the decision in the case of Ziyavudin Magomedov, the judge noted that the hero of our article is suspected of committing a particularly serious crime, he faces a sentence of imprisonment for more than ten years in prison. Speaking about the case of Ziyavudin Magomedov, the court noted thatinvestigators have witnesses and irrefutable evidence of his involvement in the crimes committed. At the same time, the witnesses stated that they were under pressure from structures associated with Magomedov, so it was decided to detain him.

Given the severity of the charges, as well as the possibility of Magomedov absconding from justice, the court refused to place him under house arrest or to pay bail in the form of two and a half billion rubles, which the defense requested.

Case investigation

Soon, the investigation announced that in the case of the Magomedov brothers, new seizures of property, including objects and accounts located abroad, would begin. In particular, this was stated by the investigator in the Tverskoy Court, specifying that requests to foreign colleagues for legal assistance had already been sent.

It was previously known that the court imposed a so-called security lien on 24 companies owned by the brothers, but only 16 of them were recognized as lawful. In particular, the arrest was lifted from the assets of the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port. Two Magomedov apartments, four cars, a large number of shares in the authorized capitals of various legal entities are under security arrest.

What is Magomedov accused of?

The hero of our article is being accused under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation at once. Magomedov is accused of creating a criminal community, with the help of which he organized large-scale theft and embezzlement.

These episodes were recorded based on the resultsconstruction of the stadium "Arena B altika" in Kaliningrad, reconstruction of the airport "Khrabrovo", which is also located on the territory of the Kaliningrad region, as well as during the alluvium of a land plot in the area of Krestovsky Island in St. Petersburg. All these projects were implemented as part of a large-scale preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

According to investigators, two and a half billion rubles were stolen and illegally spent by Magomedov and his brother during the implementation of these contracts. Both brothers have been under arrest since March 2018, and the investigation into their case is still ongoing.

Recently, new suspects have begun to appear in the case of the Magomedov brothers. Thus, ex-general director of United Grain Company Sergei Polyakov ended up in a pre-trial detention cell, who was arrested in September for two and a half months with a possible subsequent extension of this period. Polyakov is a suspect in a case of fraud committed on an especially large scale and participation in a criminal group. Magomedov himself claims that all transactions were legal and were not fictitious, in which they are suspected. Sergei Polyakov, like both Magomedov brothers, does not admit his guilt.

Another defendant in the case of embezzlement was a possible accomplice of the accused - the head of the economic security of "OZK" Roman Gribanov.
