Cake packaging has changed a lot in our country over the past two decades. Printed cardboard boxes, which are sometimes still in use, are gradually being replaced by plastic containers and trays. There is nothing surprising in this, the transparency of the polymer material allows you to better see the confectionery, because this can be done without removing the lid. In addition, cardboard packaging is not so diverse in shape and size, it was mainly produced for a round cake or an oblong roll like "Fairy Tale".

Polymer containers are practically unlimited in their possible configuration and dimensions. They can be round, oval, square, rectangular. In general, it is possible to reflect the individuality of the proposed product or brand, creating a unique style of product design. Of course, you have to pay for originality, but such costs are one-time, at the mold manufacturing stage.

Plastic cake packaging is strong enough, weighs less than cardboard packaging, it has better impermeability and hygiene, which allows you to store the confectionery longer. Light weight makes it easier to ship the package to the manufacturer.

Films of polystyrene, both oriented and plain, from which cake packaging is pressed, have a thickness of 400-700 microns. At the same time, the mechanical properties of the container are provided by a form that has stiffeners, which, in turn, make the cake stand more beautiful.

Food-grade polystyrene (PS) is resistant to acids found in food products, it is chemically passive, does not release any substances into the environment, which guarantees its complete safety. However, this quality is also a disadvantage. It does not decompose (like other used disposable containers) and gradually litters the environment. The only way out can be a well-organized polymer recycling system.

Another advantage that plastic packaging for cakes has is its low cost. The buyer of the final product pays for both the contents and the container, which means that he can be pleased with a lower price.

Packaging for cakes usually consists of two parts - a substrate and a lid. Sometimes they are made of plastic of different colors or the bottom part is made opaque. Closing finished products is very easy.

Today no one can surprise anyone with an ice cream cake. This is a very tasty treat, but few people think that it needs a special container. The fact is that not every polymer can withstand strong cooling without losing its properties,and cardboard boxes get wet when they get wet. Plastic packaging for cakes can be frost-resistant, which makes them indispensable in the conditions of low temperatures created in freezers.

Apparently, transparent polystyrene cake packaging has a great future, because today there is simply no alternative.
