The company is located in the South-West region at a considerable distance from the city center. Getting here by public transport will be quite difficult. The only option is to get to the "Baza" stop on Peshe-Streletskaya street. You can do this on buses No. 57v and 17.

It will also be difficult to get there by private car. The problem is that on the way to the ceramic materials plant, one way or another, there will be quite dense traffic. The easiest way to get there is through the streets of Mashinostroiteley andCosmonauts.

History of the enterprise

The official history of the ceramics factory in Voronezh dates back to 1946, when the war-torn city was in dire need of building materials.

But the ceramic industry in the capital of the Chernozem region was quite developed back in the 19th century. Back in 1873, the famous industrialist Dorokhin opened a tiled enterprise in the very center of the city, which was engaged in the production of building products and refractory bricks. Of course, history had its own plans, so the manufactory ceased to exist.

However, the need for Voronezh building materials has not disappeared. The sewerage network was developing in the city, new residential areas were being built, so the city simply needed its own plant for building materials and ceramic products.

It was possible to realize this need only after the end of the Great Patriotic War, when the Council of Ministers of the USSR decided to start building a ceramic factory in Voronezh. But here, too, certain difficulties arose. There was always a lack of money, equipment and human resources for the implementation of the project. The plant was built for almost 10 years and was launched at full capacity only in 1954.

It was then that the active restoration of destroyed factories and the construction of new enterprises began. All of them were in dire need of facing tiles, which were produced by the long-suffering ceramic factory in Voronezh.

Merger into a concern

Like most domestic industrial enterprises, VKZ could not do without merging with other companies. More than 12 years ago, the plant successfully lost its independence and was included in the Unitile group of companies.

It happened with the light hand of businessmen Lazar Shaulov and Leonid Mayevsky. It was these people who united the Voronezh Ceramic Plant, Shakhtinskaya Keramira LLC, VKTG JSC and Markinsky Brick Plant.

Thanks to the inclusion of the enterprise into a large concern, the plant's products began to be sold not only on the territory of the Black Earth region, but also far beyond its borders. Voronezh tiles and porcelain tiles have become popular in Izhevsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and other major regional centers.

Thus, we can safely say that this association benefited the company and allowed it to survive regular financial crises that hit the company's economic position.

Crisis and plant shutdown

The first financial blow to the ceramic tile factory came in 2008. It was then that the crisis reached its peak and the company needed reforms and new investments.

The company urgently restructured its debts and entered a new course of management. The situation seemed to have stabilized, but not for long.

Loan funds were enough for only a few years. In 2014, the company's losses already amounted to more than 50 millionrubles. The situation was aggravated by the fact that the company announced that it was impossible to repay a loan to Sberbank in the amount of almost one billion rubles.

As a result, most of the employees went on unpaid leave, and the production shops were stopped. Fortunately, it didn't last very long. Already in 2015, the owners found the necessary funds, and the furnaces were again launched at full production capacity.

To date, the financial situation in the company can safely be called stable. The ceramic plant in Voronezh produces hollow bricks, collections of facing materials, porcelain stoneware and facing mixtures.

The company's products have European standards and are produced under Italian and German brands. Tiles produced at VKZ are supplied to the farthest corners of Russia and are used not only for domestic needs, but also for solving a number of industrial or construction tasks. The company's next step should be to enter the global arena and supply the CIS market.
