The presence of women in politics and business always interests the public and excites its imagination. And the weaker sex at the helm of companies attracts doubly attention.
One of these strong women, an "iron perfectionist", as she calls herself, is Olga Alexandrovna Pleshakova, ex-general director, chairman of the board of directors of Transaero JSC.
Unfortunately, the airline is currently out of business. The Transaero website is down, and the video from the rally in support of the company (dated November 15, 2015) is the last tweet posted by Olga Pleshakova.
Biography
Born on 1966-07-12 in the capital of the Russian Federation - the city of Moscow. Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Aviation (speci alty "Aviation Armament"), received a candidate's minimum.
Even at school, the union of Olga and Alexander (the son of Tatiana Anodina, the widow of the Minister of Radio Industry of the USSR) was born. In 1986, she married him while still a student at the Moscow Aviation Institute.
Currently Alexander andOlga Pleshakova are the parents of two charming daughters, Tanya and Natasha.
In 1990, Olga's husband organized the first private company in the USSR engaged in air transportation, Transaero. And so began her career as the first female head of an airline in the history of Russia, Olga Pleshakova, whose biography proved that a woman in aviation can reach unprecedented heights.
Career
During the period 1992-1993. held the position of senior technology expert at JSC Transaero. In 1992-1993 Olga Pleshakova worked as a senior technology expert at Transaero. Then, for 2 years, she held the position of the head of the service department on board airliners and rose to the head of the service department.
The company became more successful, and with it our heroine grew up the career ladder. And by 2001, Olga Pleshakova was the general director of Transaero. And in 2015, she received the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Approaches to Leadership
During her career, Olga Pleshakova has established herself as a successful leader: the number of shipments, and, accordingly, revenue has increased tenfold.
The non-standard approach to the management of the airline ensured not only profitability, but also the fame of Transaero both in wide and narrow circles: for a long time it was the main carrier of employees of the Ministry of Defense, mastered not always profitable, but exotic destinations (for example, Brazil), the food menu on board was also unusual,carried out social transportation, acted as a sponsor in helping children with cancer, etc.
There has always been a special attitude towards passengers: there were cases when, during serious failures, Olga Pleshakova personally went to people in the waiting area and explained the situation, reassured them.
Achievements
- 2009 – the leader in the transport nomination among Russian managers.
- 2010 is the best among aviation executives.
- 2011 - in the top three according to the TOP-100 rating in the Expert magazine.
- 2012 - winner in the nomination "The most influential woman in the country" (category "Business") according to the rating from RIA Novosti, radio station Ekho Moskvy and Ogonyok magazine.
- 2012-2013 – in the list of the fifty most influential business women in the world according to US Fortune magazine (the only representative from Russia).
In addition, Olga Pleshakova is a laureate of such awards as Olympia (nomination "Irreproachable business reputation"), "Person of the Year", "Business Leader of the Commonwe alth of Independent States" and others.
Wrote a large number of publications on the subject of civil aviation. Together with other authors, she published a monograph on society and the state.
Olga Pleshakova received the following awards:

Transaero today
CurrentlyAt the same time, the government declared bankruptcy of one of the country's largest air carriers, Transaero. This is a serious loss not only for the aviation industry, but also for former passengers.
