Shopping centers in Brest began to appear and develop rapidly relatively recently. Back in the early 2000s, there were no super- and hypermarkets, large multifunctional trading floors in the city. This was due to the legacy of the 90s, when there were many so-called clothing markets.

Closer to 2010, there were large stores "Asstor-West", "Mix" in the city, the "Korona" supermarket was opened. It was after this year that large shopping centers began to appear very actively in the city.

The center of Brest, due to the historical features of the development, is not filled with large shopping centers. Here is the reconstructed Central Department Store, the shopping center "Nikolsky" near the bus station, "Gostiny Dvor" on Sovetskaya. Most of the stores are being actively built and opened in such districts of Brest as Vostok, Kovalevo, and the new district of Zarechny. These areas are densely populated, actively growing and deteriorating, so the opening of new centers here is beneficial for investors.

One of the largest entertainment and shopping centers in Brest is "Equator", located in the Vostok microdistrict. It includes a Green supermarket, boutiques and small shops located inside, as well as a fitness center and playground. "Ekvator" is for Brest residents not only a place to buy food or clothes, but also a place to relax with children. Here you can visit the game room inside, play on the playground outside, spend time in a rope town or visit a pizzeria.

Another big center is the Korona hypermarket. Despite the fact that it has been open in the city for about 8 years, many people love this store. High quality service, spaciousness and a large selection of goods from year to year attract an increasing number of buyers. The store hosts jewelry and clothing boutiques and a home appliances department.

TsUM, famous since Soviet times, was reopened in 2018 in a new form. The store has been completely refurbished andbecame similar inside to a modern multifunctional shopping and entertainment center. Here, the old assortment was preserved, while the store was completely re-equipped in a modern way. Now here you can relax with a cup of coffee, make the necessary purchases and just take a walk with your family. TSUM is located in the center of Brest, and in its eastern microdistrict has a branch "Vostochny Trading House".

Also, the development of trade infrastructure has contributed to the emergence of large stores not only for food and industrial purposes. There are several large construction hypermarkets and home appliances stores in the city. "Milya", "Mainland" and "Oma" offer a wide range of building products, tools and materials. Of course, markets with similar goods continue to function, but nevertheless, these stores are convenient in that you can find almost everything at once in one place. Household appliances are assembled in such centers as "5th element", "Elektrosila", "Vam Glad".
