Four outriggers are attached to the frame, which are supported by hydraulic cylinders. This provides greater stability during operation. The Liebherr crane essentially set a new direction in mechanical engineering.
Work Equipment
The metal structure of the boom allows it to be divided into sections. These sections can be driven out by a rotor. The length of the arrow depends onconfiguration. The latest assumes a total length of sections up to one hundred meters. At the same time, the maximum possible angle of elevation is almost ninety degrees. The hydraulic motor, in which the axial pistons are located, extends the boom. The winch drum has a planetary gear, which greatly increases the lifting capacity of the crane.
The running frame is connected to the turret by a weather vane, in which there is a king pin hinged on top. The weight of the crane is about 360 tons, the weight can increase four times, depending on the configuration. The crane has a two-hundred-ton counterweight, which consists of sixteen plates.
Crawler Crane
Crawler cranes are mainly used in sand pits due to high traffic. They can work on several sites from one parking lot or move between them.
Towers do not have a turntable. The crane operator's cab is installed in front of the running frame. According to the company, this design provides greater security.
In 2010, an LTM crane fell due to a gust of wind that brought down the rotor of a wind turbine being installed. No harm done. Crawler cranes of the LR brand can have an arrow up to a hundred meters long. The metal structure is optimized and made of new steel alloys. Transport is assembled, allowing the machine to get to work quickly.
