One of the oldest and most developed sectors of the national economy of any country, Russia in particular, is the pulp and paper industry. On the territory of the state, the opening of the first plant of this type dates back to the era of the reign of Peter I. This enterprise was called the Krasnoselskaya Paper Manufactory. It was there that the development of the entire Russian paper industry as a whole was initiated.

At the present stage, this factory is referred to as: "Krasnogorod Experimental Pulp and Paper Plant". If in the old days the production and processing of materials was carried out on foreign equipment, now, thanks to the development of science and the introduction of new technologies, plants and factories use machines and machine tools of domestic assembly.

At the same time, in many states, forestry saturates with its materials initially such an industry as the pulp and paper industry (about 70%), and then others. Finland is one of these countries. At the same time, in this state, and in others, too, the recycling of paper raw materials - recyclables or waste paper.

The latest technologies that are used at the present stage make it possible to combine cardboard and paper with other materials. The result of successful experiments of this nature is the expanded production of waterproof, durable and lightweight packaging materials that are used in the transportation, storage and sale of certain types of liquids.

As a rule, the pulp and paper industry uses spruce and some hardwoods for its purposes. Cellulose is obtained from the chemical processing of pine and birch.

The paper industry in Russia and other countries uses the chemical substance chlorine to whiten paper pages. During the use of this element, aggressive compounds are formed that adversely affect the environment. Defenders of the planet, in cooperation with various chemical companies, advocate the use of oxygen for these purposes, which in no way affects the pollution of water bodies and air. At the moment, a huge number of enterprises are trying to switch to environmentally friendly technology.
