Chancery secretary is not the highest paid, but rather prestigious position in the apparatus of the district court. To be hired, the candidate must have a law degree and basic office management skills. Experience is not required for this position.
How to get a job?
How do I find out if there is a vacancy? Usually this information is held by a court consultant, head or directly by the office. Secretary (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and other large Russian cities often omit this position in the lists of positions of district courts, and then secretarial duties are listed in the job description of a consultant or specialist of the first, second or third category) - this is the person who is assigned responsibility for the effective organization of office work. Although approximately the same can be said about some other administrative positions, it should be remembered that the secretary of the court session, for example, is responsible for processing civil, criminal and administrative cases only in the process of considerationthese cases by the judge. The secretary of the office either starts cases (that is, draws up claims, applications and criminal materials immediately after they are received by the district court and before the documents are accepted for consideration by a particular judge), or performs the actions prescribed by regulatory enactments in relation to cases already considered, on which decisions have been made, determinations or sentences.
To get a job in the office of the district court, you should first call the court and find out if there is a suitable vacancy or not. If the vacant place is not maternity, you will have to pass an exam on knowledge of the text of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the main provisions of the federal law "On the State Civil Service". The exam is held on a competitive basis, as several candidates usually apply for a vacant position. If the vacancy is vacated as a result of the previous employee leaving on maternity leave, it is not required to take the exam, since the applicant is not signed a permanent, but a fixed-term service contract.
Responsibilities
Unfortunately, in relation to this profession, there is no specific list of responsibilities. The list always remains open. Nevertheless, it is possible to indicate the main activities that the average secretary of the court office performs. This is:
- acceptance of civil and criminal cases, as well as administrative materials from the secretaries of the court session, checking the correctness of their execution and the fact of compliance with all the requirements of the procedurallegislation;
- storage of files for the last two years (including the current one) in the active archive of the office;
- preparation of writ of execution at the request of persons participating in the case;
- putting down the date of entry into force of judicial acts;
- sending legal acts that have entered into legal force to interested authorities, including, for example, a cadastral chamber or a prison;
- production of photocopies of judicial acts at the request of the parties and their certification by the relevant judges;
- reception of citizens on considered cases;
- receiving phone calls from citizens, representatives of organizations and government agencies;
- execution of orders of the chairman of the court, judges, head of the office, consultant, administrator.
As you might guess, the last paragraph implies almost any action that falls within the competence of the clerical department in the district court, and the secretary of the office is obliged to perform the tasks assigned within the framework of his job description and regulatory documentation.
Prospects
Although not everyone considers such a profession as a secretary of the office to be quite prestigious, in fact it can give a good impetus to career advancement for everyone who dreams of becoming a justice of the peace. It is enough to have five years of experience in a district court in a position requiring a higher legal education in order to meet the basic requirements of the law for candidates for the position of justice of the peace.
