Slavyanka Confectionery Factory in Stary Oskol, Belgorod Region, is an enterprise with a rich history. Founded in the 18th century, it has grown from a small bakery to a large food processing company. Today, production is part of the Slavyanka confectionery association, which has rallied such reputable manufacturers as Volzhanka, KONFI, the factory named after. Krupskaya and others.
From time immemorial
The founders of the confectionery factory "Slavyanka" are considered to be the Dyakov brothers, who, on the lands granted by Peter I, launched the production of oil lamps. For its production, a steam engine was purchased in Belgium, but it had excess power. Entrepreneurial merchants realized that some of the excess steam could be used to bake bakery products and get additional profit.
Dyakovo bagels and rolls are in great demand. To expand the range was organizedapiary. First-class honey was mixed with hazelnuts and made delicious dishes.
In the 19th century, a full-fledged confectionery shop was created, which became the prototype of the Slavyanka confectionery factory. He was famous throughout the city for his marmalade, toffee, jams, oatmeal cookies, gingerbread, icing, Cancer Necks and other sweets.
Time for change
After the revolution, the future Slavyanka confectionery factory was nationalized by the new authorities, but they did not show due attention to the enterprise. Production was stopped, the equipment was partially lost. Only in 1930, the regional administration realized it and instructed to restore the company's activities.
Fortunately, a steam engine and a huge cauldron survived, which were not stolen due to their large size. The start-up of the renovated factory took place on November 07, 1932 - this day is considered the date of birth of the enterprise. Halva, caramel and gingerbread of various varieties were the basis of the products.
Test Time
During the war, production facilities were partially destroyed. However, as soon as the German troops left the city, the population (mostly women) set about restoring the bakery industry. A few months later, hungry residents were able to eat freshly baked bread.
By the way, while bakers worked in some rooms, a front-line hospital was housed in others. He operated until 1943. Only in 1944 was the production of sweets launched, and of course, they werefamous signature gingerbread.
Peacetime overhead
The 1950s - the "golden time" of the Slavyanka confectionery factory. After the war, the company was seriously modernized. Candy wrappers, a fondant maker, a line for the production of toffee "Golden Key", a dragee boiler, a biscuit forming unit, and a dough mixing machine appeared.
By the mid-1960s, with the growth of abundance on the shelves, the demand for products of the Old Oskol people began to wane. It got to the point that the management had to stop the production of cookies and gingerbread, which were the hallmark of manufacturers since the time of the tsarist empire. The solution was obvious - to offer the population new sweets, but in beautiful packages. By 1970, instead of several dozen products, Slavyanka was already producing 150 types of products. Particular attention was paid to the development of interesting designs for wrappers and gift boxes.
However, by the 1980s, the resource of 30-year-old equipment was exhausted. A systematic thorough reconstruction of the factory began. To accommodate new workshops, the area of the enterprise was increased. By 1990, its own substation was built, five artesian wells were drilled, a large reservoir for molasses was installed, an industrial and amenity building with new equipment was built, the infrastructure was updated, natural gas was supplied, and a water tower was erected. After the modernization, the total capacity of the factory reached 15,000 tons annually.
New stage
The fall of the Soviet Union, although it was a blow to the old economic ties, but also made it possible to turn to world experience. In the 2000s, the management found reserves for the development of the company. European lines and equipment were purchased, which made it possible to increase productivity and quality, and significantly expand the range.
The issue of educating an enterprising and responsible work collective remains important. The personnel department of the confectionery factory "Slavyanka" periodically recruits specialists for vacant positions. Most often, the speci alties of a baker, confectioner, technologist, and a mechanic for the repair of basic equipment are in demand. Graduates of specialized educational institutions are willingly hired.
