The cycle of growing strawberries does not end with picking berries, you need to take good care of your favorite garden dweller in order to get a good harvest next year. A mandatory procedure that must be performed before the onset of frost is strawberry transplantation.

During active fruiting, mustaches form on the bushes, which are removed or rooted next to the main bed, forming a rosette at the end. These shoots are transplanted to form a new, young bed. Only young plants can be used to form a new bed, old bushes will be barren.

Transplanting strawberries to a new location requires compliance with certain weather conditions. It is advisable to lay a new bed on a cloudy day or in the evening, but before the start of frost. The most favorable days for transplanting strawberries are the last week of summer, if August turned out to be cool, and moderately warm September. It is very good if it rained before planting garden strawberries, because plants rooted in moist soil will take rootbetter.

Strawberry transplantation can be carried out in the spring, but in this case, the berries on young bushes will not appear until next year.

First you need to prepare the bed - loosen the ground and add humus to it, as well as complex mineral fertilizers. Before disembarking, we make holes, fill them with water.

Strawberries are planted in the resulting slurry, straighten the roots across the width of the hole, sprinkle with earth on top. The size of the hole depends on the size of the root, the depth of planting should be such that the upper kidney - the growth kidney, as it is called, is not covered with earth.

To compact the soil, water the bush again, sprinkle it with earth again. If you do everything right, then with a slight twitch, the shoot will not move, but will remain in place. The land around needs to be mulched with sawdust or straw, and the bushes should be regularly watered.

An alternative option is to transplant strawberries to agrofibre, the use of which provides additional care for the plants of a young bed.

Agrotextile is a special material that allows air and moisture to pass through during irrigation, but prevents the liquid from evaporating from the soil. The use of special material will protect plants from weeds, and the root system from pests.

Transplanting garden strawberries to agrofiber is done as follows: prepared soil with moistened holes is covered with agrotechnical fabric, which must be fixed along the edges of the beds. In places where depressions are visible, incisions are made. Bushes are planted in the holes obtained with the help of a scoop. We mulch the aisles from above with straw or sawdust, so as not to damage the agrofibre in the future during harvesting and watering.

The use of ground cover material greatly facilitates the further care of strawberries, in winter agrotextile serves as a reliable insulation, during fruiting it facilitates the collection of berries that are not damaged by the ground and look attractive.
