Flowers in a flower bed, a lilac bush and several trees - what is not a dream. And if you still break the beds in the country - here it is the land-breadwinner. Anyone who has planted vegetables or berries at least once knows firsthand: no store product can be compared to the taste of a crop grown by one's own hands. It is possible not to talk about the environmental side of the issue.

But there is also an aesthetic, design side: how to arrange the beds in the country, not only taking into account the benefits, but also beauty and reasonableness. A few tips from someone in the know wouldn't hurt.

The most important thing is soil quality

Before you fence the beds in the country with your own hands, you need to think about the land. If the soil is heavy, clayey or rocky, you will have to tinker with it: dig, select stones. Loam requires the introduction of coarse river sand, peat, humus or a ready-made earth mixture from the store. In a word, the soil for any garden bed in the country should be light and clean, and have crops.need in well-lit places where there is no stagnant rainwater.

Sizes and shapes of beds

There are no rules here - it all depends on the territory for the garden and the fantasies of the gardener. Although there is still one rule: the design of the beds in the country requires the same attention as the design of the yard or gazebo. If the proportions are not respected, the beds are located at random - this does not cause any positive emotions not only among the guests, but also among the owners of the site themselves. Most often, the beds are dug up in the form of a rectangle, 2-2.5 meters long and no more than one and a half meters wide - so that when planting it is possible to reach out with your hand and not step on the dug up surface. Smooth, neat edges are a must. For convenience, special bumpers are often used: the earth does not crumble, and the shape of the beds is preserved. However, depending on the landscape, the beds in the country are often made both oval and round, the main thing is that they fit organically into the space.

Round berry patch

This is a relatively new invention of summer residents - a berry bed. Imagine several tiers of strawberry seedlings strewn with bright berries! Such luxury is made very simply. In stores for gardeners and gardeners, plastic corrugated rolls are sold just for the sides in the beds. For a berry garden in the country, it is better to take green material - it looks more natural - 30 cm high. For the base, a circle with a diameter of notless than 1.5 m. The circle is filled with earth (the quality of the soil was discussed above). Then a second circle is installed inside with an indent from the side of about 18-20 cm. And then - the next circles of smaller diameter. Enough 3-5 tiers. And now it remains to plant strawberries around the perimeter at all levels, water abundantly - and wait for the harvest. Be sure to choose remontant varieties that give several harvests per season so that there is no depressing sight of a withered flower bed. In addition, in this way it will be possible to keep strawberries within certain limits - after all, it grows and strives to occupy the entire garden.
