Zooworld advocates were enthusiastic about the discussion. They believe that the real punishment of citizens accused of cruelty to animals will be possible only after the mandatory registration of pets and their owners.
However, the pet tax must be expressed in an amount that any owner can afford to pay. Otherwise, the bill will have the opposite effect - people will turn their pets out into the street, not being able to pay fees after registration.

All the news about the introduction of the tax on pets - nothing more than a newspaper duck. The bill has not progressed further to datediscussions.
The only region of the Russian Federation where paid registration of animals is carried out is the Crimea. The event has been held as part of a special regional project since the beginning of 2017. Summarizing: all the news about the pet tax is a myth. By such a measure, information sources meant the paid registration of pets in veterinary institutions. The measure is already in effect in Crimea, but has not been adopted in the rest of Russia. Today, the State Duma is discussing another necessary bill - "On the responsible treatment of animals".
