JSC "Vladimir Chemical Plant" is a large enterprise in the chemical industry, located in the city of Vladimir. The production is focused on the production of PVC cables, vinyl plastic, granular and sheet non-plasticized materials. The team was repeatedly awarded with memorable awards for labor achievements.

Pioneer of domestic chemistry

In the early 1930s, the chemical industry of the USSR was in its infancy. The country was in dire need of such seemingly simple things as plastic products, plastic films, rubber, etc. To make up for the shortage, the Soviet government decided to build a chemical plant for the production of products from synthetic resin - neoleukorite.

The premises of the dyeing and finishing factory in the city of Vladimir were identified as the site. In the spring of 1932, a viscose shop was launched. The first products were bottle caps. Their release made it possible to reduce the purchase of expensive cork oak,purchased for currency. Also, tubes and boxes for medicines, medications, perfumes, creams and other cosmetic and pharmaceutical products were made from viscose. Later, the range expanded to include consumer goods: jewelry, buttons, cigarette cases, powder boxes, mouthpieces, billiard balls.

Cadres decide everything

Obviously, the new industry was in dire need of highly qualified specialists. They had to be trained from scratch, recruiting talented young people from universities (primarily FZU) and chemical enterprises. Later, the training of middle technical personnel was organized at the Vladimir Chemical-Mechanical College.

Shortly after the start of work at the Vladimir Chemical Plant (VKhZ), an own laboratory was created, which was entrusted with an important mission to control the operation parameters of complex equipment and monitor the quality of manufactured products. The best of the best were recruited here - graduates of institutes and universities in Moscow, Leningrad, Vladimir, Ivanovo.

War

With the outbreak of hostilities, the profile of the enterprise has changed dramatically. Instead of corks, boxes and trinkets, the team mastered the production of alcohol resins, which are so necessary for aircraft factories, airfields, and repair shops. The organization of the production of insulating materials, which today are the main products of the Vladimir Chemical Plant, can be called fateful. Also, injection molding machines were installed at the enterprise, on which, in particular, most of the soldiers'WWII medallions.

For the good of the world

After the war, the domestic chemical industry experienced an unprecedented rise. In the 1950s, the plant began producing complex vinyl-plastic products. Workshops commissioned:

  • for the synthesis of cellulose acetate;
  • foam extrusion;
  • cotton gins.

60s became the golden age for VHZ. A radical reconstruction was carried out, which affected both buildings and technological equipment. The production of vinyl plastic and faolite were transferred to a continuous work schedule. The plant in Vladimir became one of the largest chemical enterprises in the Soviet Union.

70s were marked by the expansion of the production base. Appropriate equipment was purchased in England for the production of synthetic films and PET polymers. However, it was not enough to buy machines and units, they had to be correctly installed, configured and mass-produced. The factory workers did an excellent job with this, and the head of the new production, Yu. V. Ryzhov, was awarded the State Prize of the USSR Council of Ministers. In parallel with the production of household films with a thickness of 6-250 microns, VKhZ has launched the production of packaging for medicines and food products.

Insulation materials

Among all the chemical products of the plant, the most important are cable compounds. They are intended for the manufacture of insulating coatings for electrical cables. For their production on the personal initiative of the Minister of Chemical Industry inIn the 1980s, the best Swiss equipment of the BUSS company was purchased at that time.

Cheap, high-quality, durable OM-40 plastic compounds showed excellent results in tests and began to be supplied to all cable factories in the country. The line has worked faithfully for more than 20 years without significant changes. In 2000, it was modernized. For outstanding achievements, the team was awarded the highest peacetime award - the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

Time for change

After the collapse of the USSR, the administration had to solve the difficult problem of keeping the enterprise afloat. First of all, the Vladimir Chemical Plant was incorporated. A number of unprofitable productions had to be abandoned. To reduce dependence on subcontractors, VKhZ organized the production of many materials and components previously purchased from partners. In 1997, a plant for the production of nitrogen used in technological processes was launched.

By the end of the 90s, factory specialists developed new types of plastic compounds with better characteristics: IT-105V, V3, NGP 40-32. Italian line of blood lines for medical institutions launched.

At the moment, far from all production facilities operate on the vast factory territory. Unfortunately, the company is going through hard times. For example, in 2013, a section of polyethylene terephthalate film was stopped. It remains to be hoped that the administration will be able to find a worthy way out of this situation.
