Russian Helicopters is an integrated helicopter manufacturing company producing helicopters for both the army and civil aviation. This holding brings together leading designers, serial plants and related enterprises.
Russian Helicopters (see photo below) is a full-cycle company that includes absolutely all technological sections: development, production, sales, service, repair.
Demand for the products and services of this integrated group is quite high. Helicopter equipment is purchased, first of all, by Russian departments (FSB, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Emergency Situations), airlines, and other large firms.
For example, in 2010, a contract was signed for the supply of Utair40 (airline) Mi-8/47 helicopters. This is the largest contract between a Russian commercial operator and a manufacturer. In addition, the Ministry of Defense plans to purchase about 1,000 helicopters over the next seven years, including the Night Hunter MI-28N and the Alligator KA-52 (combat, new Russian helicopters).
Today, the association considers not only the production and trade of helicopters, but also the entire cycle - "development-production-sales-repair-disposal".
In fact, Russian Helicopters has already launched an after-sales service program that should increase its market share of Russian helicopters to 30% by 2020. The Helicopter Service Company (a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters) has been entrusted with the supply of all components and the distribution of requests for repairs and maintenance.
It should be noted that this company is on the list of the main largest helicopter manufacturers. Products are in demand in most countries of the world. The highest demand for Russian-made helicopters is in the CIS countries, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and the Pacific region.
The main task of the association today is the modernization of the most popular types of equipment, including light helicopters of the Ansat and MI-34S1 types. The certificate issued by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) to the well-proven KA-32A11BC multi-purpose helicopter not only increased its sales and opened new markets, but also raised the rating of the association as a whole.
At the moment, Russian Helicopters is on the way to implementing promising projects. A whole range of models has been developed, including such popular models as MI-34S1, KA-226T, MI-171M, MI-38, KA-62, Ansat and others.
The Development Bank opened financing for the project,associated with the development and organization of serial production of the multifunctional light helicopter KA-226T and the helicopter with increased payload MI-38. In addition, work has begun on a new high-speed helicopter. And the MI-8/17 helicopter is awaiting a deep modernization (the working name of the model is MI-171A2).
But of particular interest are the new Russian helicopters (“helicopters of the future”), with the appearance and “stuffing” of which the developers must decide by 2025. The so-called artificial intelligence (neural networks) will be included in the basis of onboard equipment. The task of designers is to create a car taking into account the most innovative developments. The concept of future samples should also be based on such indicators as flight safety and environmental friendliness.
