Before starting the production of timber, it is necessary to find out what equipment is required for these purposes. It is clear that wood sawing machines, drying chambers, special presses will be needed. But this is not yet a complete list.

To buy equipment for the production of glued laminated timber, you have to spend money. So, you will need:

1) sawmill for cutting lumber;

2) a multi-saw machine designed for sawing large beams into individual boards;

3) folding or vacuum device designed for stacking;

4) moisture meter, which is used to reject too wet or, conversely, overdried boards;

5) milling machine needed to process the sides of the lamellas;

6) planer and gluer, which are always located side by side;

7) presses.

Besides this, it is also necessary to organize an optimization line, on which all defects of the tree will be removed.

Technological process

It is easy to figure out what equipment is needed in order to make glued beams. Its production begins with the sawing of the logs received by the workshop into separate boards. It was them who subsequentlysent to dryers. It is necessary that the output humidity in them be at the level of 10%.

After drying is completed, the boards are checked and rejected. Selected products without flaws are treated with special substances - flame retardants and antiseptics. This is necessary so that the wood is not affected by the fungus and that it does not burn.

Only after the completion of these stages, the workshops begin to glue the lamellas. Depending on the required thickness of the logs, from 2 to 5 boards can be connected together at the exit. They are laid in such a way that the wood fibers go in different directions - this provides the best strength of such material as glued beams. Production is completed on special equipment - presses. This is necessary in order for the glue to firmly connect the lamellas together.

Construction

Speaking about the advantages of modern natural materials, many people forget to mention durability. So, a house built from glued beams will be fifty or even 70 percent stronger than the one that was used in the construction of logs. In addition, the length of the products can reach 12 meters - it is convenient to use them for the construction of even walls.

The production technology of glued laminated timber is such that it is also profiled during its manufacture. This provides ease of assembly of the walls and their increased strength. Profiling of a bar is made on special four-sided machines. The quality of the finished product will depend on how conscientiously the tongue-and-groovebar elements. During the construction of buildings, insulation is laid in the locks of the timber profile. This provides additional insulation and windproof walls.
