The plantation of N. Puzenko, who lives in Volgograd, has become a real benchmark for many wine growers in the post-Soviet countries. At the moment, on her plot, Natalya, together with her husband, grows more than 200 of the most popular and high-quality varieties of this crop. The family, among other things, has its own website, where you can order seedlings from its nursery. Puzenko grapes are distinguished by simply excellent varietal qualities and are grown with strict observance of all required technologies.

Favorite varieties

Natalya Puzenko really grows a lot of good varieties of grapes. Of the varieties cultivated by it, one can distinguish, for example:

1. Gift to Irina. This table variety of Vishnevetsky selection was obtained by crossing the hybrid form of Kesha 1 and Glasha with Elegant.
2. Tason. This Muscat variety, which has gained immense popularity among gardeners in the countries of the former CIS, is characterized by frost resistance and early fruit ripening.
3. Rylais Pink Sidilis. This grape belongs to the group of ultra-early and canwithstand temperatures as low as -30°C in winter.

Grapes and other no less interesting and popular varieties are sold in the nursery of N. Puzenko. Muscat Red, as can be judged by its name, belongs to the group of ultra-early table varieties. Its berries ripen already 95-100 days after the leaves bloom. That is why this variety is very much appreciated, including winegrowers, relativelycold regions, for example, central Russia and the Urals. Clusters of this variety have time to ripen even in a short summer.

Among other things, this variety is considered quite frost-resistant. It is allowed to grow it in the northern regions. It is for such areas that N. Puzenko recommends this grape. And the point here is not even the increased frost resistance of Muscat Red. In the northern regions, it is necessary to cover this grape. The fact is that this variety produces relatively small clusters and berries. For the southern regions, N. Puzenko still recommends more heat-loving varieties with large fruits.

Clusters and berries

N. Puzenko considers the main advantage of Superearly Muscat to be simply the excellent taste of its fruits. The berries of this variety contain about 15% sugar and only 5% acids. They are very sweet in taste. But even this, according to N. Puzenko, is their main advantage. The juicy fleshy dense pulp of the berries of this variety is distinguished by a pronounced nutmeg taste. According to Natalia, in this regard, no other variety of grapes can be compared with Superearly Muscat.

The advantages of the fruits of this variety, among other things, include the fact that they are not affected by wasps. The weight of the bunches of Muscat Super Early is not too large - about 600 g. At the same time, as the bush ages, the berries and brushes of the variety increase in size. The color of the ripe fruits of this variety are dark purple.

Growing tips from Natalia Puzenko: how to protect against mildew

• "Kolis" or "Strobi" (the active ingredient is kresoxim methyl);
• "Acidan", "Benefit" (metalaxyl);
• Rapid Gold (Mefenoxam).

How to protect grapes from mildew? Puzenko Natalya advises the use of systemic drugs in combination with contact ones, for example, copper-containing ones. In this case, the last kind of agents will protect the leaves from the penetration of spores into them, killing them immediately when they hit the plates, and the systemic compounds will kill the already developed fungus.

How to cover properly

Early Muscat, as already mentioned, is supposed to be artificially protected from low temperatures in winter. N. Puzenko recommends covering grapes on his website using a special film with cells of mediumor large size. Material with threads threaded inside it for this purpose, according to this grower, is not very suitable. Under such a film, the grapes freeze. Under the dense black material of this type, the bushes, on the contrary, are very hot. And so they can simply rot in the spring.

Vine Formation: Pruning Tips

Experienced gardeners who have already tried Muscat Superearly on their plots recommend cutting such vines for 6-8 eyes. At the same time, it is advisable to leave no more than 40-60 eyes for each bush.

On the site of N. Puzenko, of course, there are also recommendations regarding the formation of grapes and their pruning. When performing this operation, including at the landings of Muscat Superearly, this specialist advises:

• place all cuts on one side of the sleeve or horn;
• do not leave stumps when annual shoots are completely removed, etc.

Watering grapes

During flowering, the soil under the grapes is not moistened. The most active period of moisture consumption inof this culture begins during the pouring of berries. Watering the grapes in the summer during ripening should be quite intense. At this time, half of the seasonal water rate is poured under the vines at fairly short intervals.
