Probably, many summer residents are well aware of the benefits of sawdust in the garden. However, novice gardeners may not know this, so this information may come in handy someday. Why do we need sawdust in the garden? First of all, wood chips improve the soil structure, which becomes more free-flowing, which is very beneficial for plant roots. It is for this reason that most summer residents prefer to use wood chips as fertilizer. However, before that, it is necessary to carefully treat it with a solution of urea. 4-5 tablespoons of urea are diluted in a bucket of water and three buckets of sawdust are soaked in the resulting solution. It would also be useful to additionally add 1 tablespoon of potash fertilizers and one tablespoon of superphosphate to the solution. With shavings moistened in this way, it is best to fertilize the soil in the autumn, the ratio is 1 bucket per 3-4 square meters of land.

The fact is that the level of nitrogen compared tocarbon in the soil is significantly higher than in wood top dressing. If you have sawdust in the garden, remember that in any case it is impossible to fertilize the soil with them without pre-treatment, otherwise the fertility of the soil will simply worsen with your good intentions.

The reason for this is that the bacteria that decompose wood chips will begin to take nitrogen from the soil, which plants need for normal development. Among other things, some components contained in the chips can also adversely affect plant growth. It is best to turn sawdust in the garden into compost. To do this, it is necessary to mix them with earth containing manure and leave them in this form for a whole year, adding moisture if necessary and covering them in order to preserve useful components.

The effect of using this fertilizer will increase if hay or succulent grass is added to it.

Currently, among gardeners, such a type of fertilizer as compost, based on wood chips and bird droppings, is extremely in demand and popular. At the same time, experts do not recommend the use of sawdust compost until all its components decompose, and the structure resembles dark, greasy peat.

A huge percentage of summer residents prefer to use the material in question for the implementation of the soil mulching procedure. The process of decomposition of wood shavings proceeds slowly - about two years. It consumes a lot of moisture, helping to strengthenwater-retaining properties of light soils. Among other things, the material for country vegetation transforms into excellent mulch.

Of course, the use of sawdust is not limited to land use only. This material has been a source of promising business ideas for a long time.

Thus, the practical application of the above material is unusually wide, so sawdust should not be disposed of in any case, but it is better to use them in solving a wide variety of problems.
