Crimea is part of the Russian Federation! This news did not leave anyone indifferent. Conversations, disputes, discussions do not stop even today. This is a global event. In honor of the annexation of the peninsula, holidays appear, songs are sung and poems are written. The President decided to celebrate this event in his own way, and at the state level they adopted a draft of a new one hundred rubles. The banknote quickly became popular, and because of the limited circulation, enterprising citizens sold it at exorbitant prices.
Hundred-ruble note. Design, circulation
The Bank of Russia, after the annexation of the Crimean peninsula, announced the release of another monetary unit. The 100-ruble bill, as planned by the state, is issued one-time to capture the glory of Crimea and Sevastopol. Circulation nationwide is not very large. The 100-rouble note is an image of the well-known castle Swallow's Nest on the front side and a monument to the scuttled ships - on the back. This monument is located in Sevastopol and is also reflected in the famous painting by I. K. Aivazovsky "Russian squadron on the Sevastopol roadstead". Symbolization on both sides is oriented strictly vertically.
The 100-ruble banknote has a significant difference from the well-known banknotes, it is dominated by olive shades and a QR code has been addedin its lower part, which leads directly to the website of the Bank of Russia. According to the design concept, one side is completely devoted to Sevastopol, and the other - to the entire Republic of Crimea. New 100-rouble banknotes in 2016 were developed by in-house designers of FSUE Goznak and the Central Bank of Russia.

Discussions sparked by new banknotes
The fall of the ruble and the new 100-ruble bill with Crimea coincided in their manifestation, which could not but cause active, lively discussions on the Internet. For example, the notorious Mikhail Golub declared: "Russia issued its hundred rubles with Crimea, and they will soon be cheaper than even one dollar!" There were many statements in this spirit, another example: "Russia issued a hundred rubles, dedicating it to the capture of the Crimea. And its cost has become 2.2 times lower than before the capture!" There is also a lot of controversy about the armed takeover of Crimea, but, as Moscow and, most importantly, the vast majority of the inhabitants of Crimea, say, there was no takeover. Crimea became part of Russia by decision of the indigenous population. The new 100-ruble banknote is not the only one of its kind, a limited series of banknotes was also issued in 2013 in honor of the Olympic Games in Sochi. Snowboarders are depicted on these banknotes.
Changing the usual format?
Since 1995, the general design of Russian banknotes has not changed much, the last change was the zeros, which were taken away from the denomination. Extern althe appearance of banknotes was already so boring to the population that many hoped for a change. The view of the Kremlin, cities, rocks, hydroelectric power stations is not the best option. It is associated with the USSR. Elena Kitaeva, chief designer of the Kultura TV channel, presented a new banknote design, which will feature the faces of famous people and heroes. For example, Yuri Gagarin. Everyone knows this astronaut. Kazimir Malevich, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Dmitry Shostakovich - these names are well known even to the youngest representative of Russia. But, unfortunately, Goznak rejected this idea, and the banknotes remained the same. Elena Kitaeva was terribly disappointed with how her idea was disgraced by higher authorities. It was called "kindergarten", "children, would you go from here", "sandbox". And all the Russians were left with banal and bored banknotes. But at least interesting banknotes are issued for memorable events.
Cost of a hundred rubles
The hundred-ruble banknote with the image of Crimea caused a stir, it was bought and resold, its value reached thousands of rubles! It's so unbelievable, but true. Selling to collectors and people who want to have an unusual bill, sellers raised prices to the ceiling. As a result, 100 rubles equaled 1000. This is due to the fact that there are a lot of people in Russia, and the circulation of this banknote was only 20 million pieces, much more people wanted to have it. In addition, the same story was with Sochi banknotes. Their circulation was exactly the same. In everyday life, these banknotes are not, they were taken apartin their collections are numismatists, resellers and simply lovers of everything exclusive. An ordinary resident will probably be very surprised if in a simple store they give him change in a new hundred-ruble note in the same denomination that it was issued. At the moment, the excitement has subsided a bit, and the average cost per banknote is around 200-250 rubles.
Not accepting banknotes
In Khakassia, there was such an incident: residents in stores refused to accept new banknotes. This, of course, caused a wave of indignation from people. Most likely, these banknotes came to them from other objects of the Russian Federation. And ignorant sellers simply accused everyone of making counterfeit banknotes. The government of Khakassia assured everyone that these were not fakes, and that it was possible and necessary to work with them. The official birthday of the banknote is considered to be March 26, 2016, when it came into general use. But in fact, there is no question of any use of all, after all, this is a collector's edition. The official birth took place in 2015, on December 23. Despite its status as a collectible, all sellers without exception are required to accept it in accordance with its face value.
How to spot a counterfeit bill
Naturally, every person is afraid of counterfeit banknotes, they don’t really want to blunder so much and give real money, having received a fake in return. It is possible to distinguish a fake bill from a real one without special, complex examinations. It is enough to know some rules. First andthe most important thing is to feel the bill with your hands, there are certain factors. On real bills, the version for visually impaired people (located at the bottom of the bill) is more pronounced than on fakes. The density of the banknote should not cause you doubts. Next, we look at the banknote with our eyes. We look carefully! Be sure to pay attention to the inscription: "Modification of 2010". The increased relief in some places of the bill will also indicate its authenticity. Be careful, it is very difficult to prove that you are not a fake money maker.
Can I buy a banknote now?
Many Internet users who fussed at one time bought a certain number of banknotes. And the easiest way out, if you did not buy a bill on time, is to find it on the Internet. There are enough sellers, you just need to look.
You can contact the banks, perhaps they are in the branches. But this is not a fact, more enterprising users have already fussed and bought everything they can. Trying is not torture, you should still try your luck.
Ask your friends, maybe a good friend will sell you an extra bill from his collection or exchange it for something else from your treasure arsenal.
Feedback and suggestions
Negative feedback about the banknote, most likely, is left by those who did not manage to get it. For such a category of citizens, this is complete nonsense. But the happy owners, on the contrary, are proud of the acquisition and with might and main praise the banknote with the Swallow's Nest.
There are a lot of offers. How,for example, one of the Crimean winemakers was not satisfied with a hundred rubles and submitted for consideration a project with a bill of 200 rubles, which will have beautiful views of the peninsula. The profession leaves its mark, and he wanted his individual design to depict bunches of grapes, views of the Crimean vineyards and Mount Ayu-Dag. The proposal is due to drawing attention to the craft of winemaking in the Crimea.
