Manufacture of automobiles and aircraft
The most significant place in the industry of the city is occupied by the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.
It was formed in 1942 as a result of the evacuation of equipment from the Moscow Automobile Plant. In the country, more than 60% of all buses and about 10% of trucks were produced by UAZ conveyor lines. The plant is currently producing:
- UAZ Patriot, Hunter and Pickup all-wheel drive SUVs.
- Commercial vehicles UAZ Cargo, UAZ 3962, UAZ 2206 and other models.
JSC "Aviastar-SP" and SE "Scientific and Production Association "Mars" are the most significant plants in Ulyanovsk. The former specializes in the production of cargo aircraft of the Tu-204 series and the famous passenger liner An-124-100 Ruslan. The productive capacity of the aviation factory allows it to produce up to 50 pieces of equipment annually.
Metal industry organizations
Metalworking plants of Ulyanovsk occupy a special place in the industry of the city, because they produce rolled metal products, which are popular throughout the country, and are also engaged in the development of new processing machines. Ulyanovsk NIAT can serve as a specific example, in whose workshops roll forming equipment is manufactured using constrained bending technology.
Among the most significant organizations is KPP Detail-Service LLC, which specializes in the processing of metal blanks and the creation of shafts, hubs, ratchets and mechanism parts. The company carries out a full cycle of work - from metal forging to heat treatment of finished products.
Listing the factories of Ulyanovsk, one cannot fail to mention the branch of JSC INPROM, the largest Belarusian manufacturer of rolled metal products. The company works with both private clients and wholesale buyers.
Enterprises of the military-industrial complex
NPO "Mars" made the most tangible contribution to the military-industrial sector. printed circuit boards, microcircuits,modules, other electronic products and computer technology of the scientific center are successfully being introduced into the automation equipment of the Russian Navy.
