CJSC "Bryansk Machine-Building Plant" is not only the oldest machine-building production in the Bryansk region, but also one of the longest existing enterprises in Russia. How a company founded in the second half of the eighteenth century manages to remain among the most promising manufacturers and create products that are relevant to the modern world is described in this article.
History
MC "Bryansk Engineering Plant" in the form that everyone knows, did not appear immediately. In 1865 a sawmill was founded here. On June 20, 1873, the enterprise expanded its horizons to a rail-rolling, iron-working and mechanical plant. It was this joint-stock company that led to the creation of a working settlement called Bezhitsa, which exists to this day in the format of a large administrative district of Bryansk. Already by 1978, the plant was awarded the title of the third steel producer in Russia. The eighties were the beginning of productionwagons, tanks and railway platforms. Since 1896, the Bryansk Engineering Plant began to take leading positions at many exhibitions.
1907 is marked by the date of the release of locomotives from the B series here. By 1940, all heavy-duty tanks on the market were from the Bryansk region, 28% of steam locomotives of the CO series, 29% of heavy-duty cars in Russia were also produced at BMZ. The Bryansk Machine-Building Plant in 1946 created the first Pobeda steam locomotive. In 1961, the first marine engine was tested at the plant. From 1962 to 1995, the plant began to produce refrigerators and shunting diesel locomotives. Also during this period, the structure of the organization was introduced, which has been preserved to this day. It was from 1965 that the production of the plant was divided into 3 specializations: diesel, metallurgical and transport engineering.
Modern BMZ
Bryansk Machine-Building Plant has been a part of CJSC Transmashholding since 2002. Consider the dynamics of the enterprise development by years:
- 2005 – Russia's first diesel locomotive with two sections and power transmission was created at the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant.
- 2006 - the date of the creation of the locomotive "Vityaz" with an asynchronous drive.
- 2009 is a difficult period for BMZ. The plant has almost no orders, which leads to a massive reduction in staff.
- 2012 - change of leadership followed by equipment upgrades, renovation of premises and a complete reorganization of production.
- 2013 – Bryansk Engineering Plantbecomes the winner of the competition for the best innovative developments in the field of railway transport.
- 2015 – BMZ creates a new generation diesel locomotive.
Today Bryansk Engineering is a dynamically developing enterprise, which constantly creates new products and employs real professionals.
Products of the enterprise
Bryansk Engineering Plant is one of the leaders in the industrial engineering market. Mechanical engineering at BMZ includes the creation of the following products:
- Mainline diesel locomotives – the plant produces the Vityaz diesel locomotive, which differs from others in the presence of an asynchronous motor, and a diesel locomotive, created from 90% of domestically produced spare parts, designed to support the import substitution policy.
- Shunting diesel locomotives - only 4 types: TEM18DM, TEM 28, TEM19, TEM TMH.
- Freight wagons – hopper wagons for transporting grain and mineral fertilizers of various models and a specialized hopper wagon for transporting cement.
- Spare parts – BMZ produces marine engines, as well as spare parts for shunting diesel locomotives and freight cars.
Production system
In the production at BMZ, a standardized list of methods and tools is used. This approach allows rational use of resources and constantly improving the level of customer satisfaction. The operating principle of the factory is based onon the Lean Manufacturing technique. Within the framework of this methodology, BMZ follows a philosophy that involves fundamental changes in the mentality and thinking of employees. According to the "Lean production" system, today all production and 75% of the office work at BMZ.
Manual
Bryansk Machine-Building Plant in the format in which it is now is the merit of competent management. A new round of development at BMZ began thanks to the following people:
