The introduction of an embargo on imports of food products has opened up great prospects for vegetable producers, namely the Giant's Gardens holding in the Novosibirsk Region. This complex was built in 2012 and belongs to one of the young agricultural enterprises. Today it is the largest agricultural enterprise engaged in the cultivation of vegetables and herbs.
Agricultural investment
The idea of building a greenhouse facility "Giant Gardens" (Koltsovo) arose back in 2007. And already in 2009, a land plot of 200 hectares was purchased and registered in ownership near the village of Koltsovo. Previously, this territory belonged to the bankrupt state farm Zheleznodorozhny.
The main determining criteria for choosing a site were: its proximity to Novosibirsk, environmentally friendly environment, quick connection to the power line and gas pipeline. The first investments amounted to 750 million rubles. Of these, Sberbank provided the holding with 500 million rubles, and the remaining 250 million rubles were its own investments.
After that beganpreparation of the territory for the construction of facilities and detailed development of the project. First of all, vegetable stores for 8 thousand tons, a greenhouse plant for growing greens and tomatoes were built. In addition, a gas boiler house was built. All constructed facilities are connected to the gas pipeline. The holding's management plans to recoup all investments in the next 8 years.
From landing to temperature conditions
The first car with fresh packaged fruits, vegetables and herbs leaves at 6 o'clock in the morning from the territory of the Giant's Gardens agricultural holding. The agricultural complex operates around the clock to ensure the uninterrupted supply of its products to more than 20 large supermarkets. And the employees of the holding are successfully coping with this.
Gardens of the Giant is a whole modern enterprise, the work of which is based on the full cycle of vegetable processing. So, vegetables and herbs are planted here, grown, packaged, and then delivered to store shelves.
Radish, carrots, beets and potatoes are successfully grown in open ground. In greenhouses, they plant various greens, tomatoes and cucumbers. All greenhouse products in the agricultural complex are grown using additional artificial lighting, because the plants do not have enough natural light.
Up to 8,000 tons of vegetables are grown in the open field per year, and in greenhouses this figure is close to 2,000 tons. The Gardens of the Giant complex uses modern technologies for growing vegetables and all products comply with accepted standards. When growingall technological processes are observed and approved plant protection products are used.
In the agro-complex "Sadi Giganta" all products can be stored up to 8 months. For each specific culture, a given temperature regime is maintained. For example, cabbage and carrots are stored at 0 degrees, potatoes at +3 degrees Celsius. Vegetable storage workers strictly monitor the temperature regime of each chamber.
Packaging and sales of products
From the vegetable store, vegetables and herbs go to the packing shop. Green products are washed and packaged in bags, mesh or plastic wrap. Fruits are also packaged here, which are separately brought to the territory of the Giant's Gardens holding.
Every day the products of the complex are supplied to large supermarkets of the city, owners of small wholesalers, and individual enterprises. Every day, the Gardens of the Giant agricultural holding provides up to 60 tons of fresh vegetables and herbs for shops in Novosibirsk and the region.
