Second rank
A compressor unit operator of the second category serves compressors with a working pressure of up to 10 kgf/cm2 (1 MPa). The feed of this unit is 5 m3/min.
Responsibilities include:
- start, stop and regulate compressors;
- monitoring the operation of equipment that is auxiliary, as well as the compressors themselves;
- implementation of lubrication of parts of mechanisms experiencing friction;
- compressor failure prevention;
- troubleshooting;
- monitoring safety devices;
- repair of drive motors;
- filling oil into emergency tanks and service tanks, as well as pumping oil;
- participation in the repair of compressor equipment.
Knowledge for the second rank
The compressor unit operator's instruction assumes the presence of professional knowledge, without which it will be impossible to perform direct duties.
Employee must know:
- principles of operation of a turbocharger;
- reciprocating compressor operation principle;
- work steammachines and turbochargers;
- the principle of operation of electric motors;
- how to troubleshoot motors and compressors;
- methods of using instruments for measurement and control, as well as the purpose of each instrument;
- station piping diagram;
- working pressure and air temperature corresponding to each mode;
- permissible temperature to which the operating unit of the unit can heat up;
- ways to eliminate overheating, as well as measures to prevent overheating;
- brands of oils used in the lubrication unit.
Third rank
Compressor unit operator is trained not only in vocational schools or universities. There are advanced training courses, after passing which the student is issued a certificate of awarding him a higher level.
Employee maintains turbochargers and stationary compressors with an operating pressure of up to 10 kgf/cm2 (1 MPa), flow - above 5 m3 /min and up to 100 m3/min. Or installations with pressures above 10 kgf/cm2 (1 MPa) and flow rates up to 5 m3/min. when working with non-hazardous gases driven by different engines.
For a specialist of the third category, the duties are:
- regulating and starting compressors, engines and turbochargers;
- maintaining the necessary parameters of the compressor;
- switching various units;
- prevention of emergency situations instation operation;
- preparation of technical documentation for the operation of serviced equipment;
- participation in the repair of components and parts of the station.
Knowledge for the third grade
An employee with a third grade should know:
- device of turbocompressors, reciprocating compressors, internal combustion engines, electric motors, steam engines and installations;
- technical characteristics of the described units and rules for their maintenance;
- measuring equipment device, service rules and specifications;
- installation piping diagram;
- documentation required for the installation to work;
- fundamentals of thermodynamics, as well as electrical engineering;
- properties of gases in compressor operation.
Fourth rank
A driver with the specified category serves turbochargers and stationary compressors up to 10 kgf/cm2 (1 MPa). The feed in these plants is more than 100 m3/min.
The job is:
- establishing and maintaining an advantageous mode for compressor operation;
- monitoring the he alth of engines, instruments, mechanisms;
- participation in the inspection and repair of equipment (according to the qualifications of a locksmith with 3 categories).
Knowledge for the fourth grade
To perform duties at a high level, you must know:
- design features, as well as the arrangement of various types of compressors, internal combustion engines, turbochargers,electric motors, complex instruments for control and measurement, fittings and equipment, steam engines;
- layouts of pipelines, steam lines, tanks and fittings of the compressor station;
- schemes according to which the automatic device for blocking the operation of the station is located;
- technical specifications of compressors to be serviced;
- norms of electricity consumption for the normal operation of the station;
- Consumption rates for materials to produce gases or compressed air.
Fifth rank
A driver of the fifth category serves automated stations up to 100 m3/min.
His duties are:
- switching, as well as putting equipment into repair and standby;
- process control;
- compiling defect reports and equipment repair records;
- carrying out repairs of station equipment (qualification of a mechanic 4 categories);
- carrying out repairs of internal combustion engines and compressor units in the field and freelance.
Knowledge for the fifth grade
A fifth grade mechanic should know the internals quite well.
Knowledge required:
- kinematic diagrams of turbochargers, electric motors, steam engines, internal combustion engines;
- compressor devices,working with high pressure;
- operating regulations and characteristics of auxiliary equipment, steam engines, electric engines, turbocompressor units;
- technological processes of the station;
- Efficiency of the compressor and applied designs and systems.
Sixth rank
The work of a driver of the sixth category requires the greatest concentration, and knowledge must be supported not only by theory, but also by practice. Due to the fact that the serviced units have a large capacity, the employee must be able to carry out:
- monitoring the correct operation of the equipment of the entire station;
- regulation of the process for the development of products of the station;
- drawing up defective statements;
- equipment repair (qualification of a locksmith of the 5th category).
Knowledge for the sixth grade
Knowledge is required:
- turbocharger designs;
- kinematic diagrams;
- various power equipment: steam engines, electrical equipment, internal combustion engines;
- characteristics for the operation of compressor power plants.
Work safety
Occupational safety and he alth of the compressor unit operator is regulated by the current legislation of the Russian Federation. Labor legislation, as well as labor protection and life safety standards, establish permissible limiting operating conditions for mechanics.
