Some architectural structures need no introduction. The skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya embankment in Moscow also belongs to them. History of the building

The skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya embankment is unique in many ways. There are seven such buildings in total, and they were built almost at the same time, while only two of them are fully residential. This house was commissioned in 1952. The famous architects Chechulin and Rostkovsky, as well as the engineer Hoffman, became the authors of the project and the construction managers. Prisoners, including prisoners of war, were involved in the construction of the building. According to Stalin's idea, all seven buildings were to become not only a symbol of the greatness of the state, but also a reminder of the great victory. The builders even left messages on the walls of some apartments, some lines of them have survived toour days. From above, the high-rise resembles an equilateral triangle without one side. This impression is created by the central tower and two wings extending symmetrically from it.

To settle in this house in the old days was impossible for any money. Initially, only the military with their families lived in one wing, while the second went to artists. The tenants received a new living space with the most luxurious renovation and full furnishing. Over the years, such famous people as Nonna Mordyukova, Faina Ranevskaya, Nikita Bogoslovsky, Galina Ulanova and Alexander Tvardovsky lived here. Of course, the list of famous residents does not end there, it can be continued endlessly. The skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya embankment was the ultimate dream even for we althy citizens of those times. The entrances were always under the supervision of vigilant concierges and security guards. Despite all the we alth, the residents of the house could visit each other, leaving the doors wide open.

The house has long lost its elitism and inaccessibility. Today, anyone can buy an apartment here. However, not all millionaires seek to move into this house, and this is not at all surprising. Initially, the apartments here were not large enough. High ceilings and chic stucco, combined with an absolutely ill-conceived layout and cramped walkwaysrooms is not the best option. However, the skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya embankment is not the only bad thing for housing. There are big problems with the infrastructure. It is difficult to park a car near the building, garbage disposal is difficult, there are interruptions in water supply and heating.
