Potatoes, like any other garden crop, will feel better if they are fertilized on time. Which tool to use in this case depends on the growth and development of the bushes. Potato feeding can be done both under the root and by processing its leaves.

Before you apply fertilizer, you need to check if there are any unsprouted bushes in the rows. If there is, you need to annoy the potatoes. If the plants look weak, then most likely the potatoes do not have enough nitrogen. In this case, it is fed with ammonium nitrate. You can also use ammonium sulphate. It is necessary to use about 2 kg of funds per hundred square meters. Potato feeding can be done with mullein. This natural fertilizer is diluted with water at the rate of one to ten. A ten-liter bucket of this liquid is enough for one hundred square meters.

Urea can be used to support underdeveloped, weak and pale potatoes. It is diluted in the amount of 1 tablespoon per 10 liters of water. In addition, feeding potatoes can be done by pouring 500 g of any liquid nitrogen fertilizer under each plant. Sometimes, on the contrary, an excess of nitrogen is observed in the soil. In this case, the tops grow very high, while there are practically no tubers under the plant. In order to reduce the uptake of nitrogen by the roots, ash is added to the soil.

If top dressing is done dry, the fertilizer is carefully and carefully embedded in the soil, after which the rows are abundantly spilled with water. When embedding the mixture into the soil, they move backward so as not to trample the loosened soil. Foliar feeding of potatoes can also be very useful. This is a special method in which fertilizer is not applied to the soil, but by spraying on the leaves. It is best used when the tubers are ripe.

One month before harvest, dilute 400 g of superphosphate in water and spray potatoes. Such a measure can be extremely useful. As a result, not only the yield will increase, but also such an important indicator as the starch content of tubers will increase. Such spraying will be more useful if carried out in cloudy, dry weather. During the dry season, you can do this in the evening. Otherwise, the solution will not be absorbed into the leaves, but will dry out. Besidesspraying plants on a hot sunny day can cause leaf scorch.

So, feeding potatoes after planting is done with mullein or any other nitrogen-containing agent. You can use urea. At the last stage of growth, it is best to use foliar feeding. Thus, you can significantly increase the yield.
