Alexey Perovsky is the uncle of A. K. Tolstoy and the Zhemchuzhnikov brothers. The nephews of this man gained great fame thanks to the creation of Kozma Prutkov. In addition, Lev Perovsky was the Minister of Internal Affairs under the Emperor, he ruled the Imperial Cabinet.

In 1834 Perovsky planted grapes in the Belbek valley. And already in 1846, Perovsky's wine "Hungarian" was in the spotlight at the state exhibition.

In the 80s of the century before last, the Primorskoye estate(as the Perovsky estate used to be called) turned out to be in the possession of V. S. Perovskaya. She became the mother of Sofia Perovskaya, an activist of the revolutionary terrorist organization Narodnaya Volya. Varvara Stepanovna built a new house on the territory of the future Perovsky estate. It is he who is currently the central structure of the estate. In 1889, the entire property was sold to the wine merchant Fyodor Stahl. He erected new vineyards here and built a house with large wine cellars.

At that time, because of one story with wine from the Perovskaya estate, it began to be called "Alkadar". Once tasting a local product, Stahl exclaimed in Arabic: "alk dar" - this translates as "divine command." In 1905, the Government Gazette announced that the wines presented by the Stahls at exhibitions were awarded international medals. Already after the revolution - in 1920 - the Alkadar state farm became one of the first in Ukraine. In 1927, it began to be named after Sophia Perovskaya. To this day, Riesling Alkadar wine is stored in the wine cellar of the estate - harvests of 1929 and 1946. In addition, the Perovsky Manor Cabernet variety has always been famous.

About the vineyard

At the moment, the vineyards are located on an area of 240 hectares. Of these, 15 hectares were planted in 2016 and 20 in 2017. The yield is usually 3 tons of grapes per 1 hectare.

Some vineyards are over 25 years old, with younger ones starting to appear in 2012. An additional 10up to 30 hectares of grapes. There are many varieties here: Sauvignon, Cabernet, Chardonnay, Syrah and so on.
