The first complex includes: performing 15 exercises for the press, 15 push-ups, 15 times jumping up from the "crouching" position, 15 times the transition from the "crouching" position to the "lying emphasis" and back. The exercises of the complex are performed from five to seven times. Each individual exercise is given 10 seconds without a break in between. Then there is a test of hand-to-hand combat skills with a well-trained employee or instructor.

The candidate is being interviewed bya psychologist, as a result of which a psychological portrait is drawn up and a conclusion is given. The applicant also undergoes a full medical examination and a polygraph test ("lie detector").

Because service in a special forces unit is very serious and responsible, an interview is conducted with the candidate's parents and his wife, if any. Relatives are informed about the features of service in special forces, its nature. Written consent from parents and wife is required. Without this, it is impossible to get into the FSB.
