The Holstein breed is considered the most famous of the dairy cattle breeds on the planet. It is often called the Holstein-Friesian breed. The live weight of Holstein bulls is 1200 kg. First-calf heifers at the withers grow up to 137 cm, and full-aged cows - up to 145 cm. The chest depth is 80 cm, and the width is 55 cm. Heifers are born weighing 39 kg, and bulls weigh 42 kg at birth. Holstein cows have excellent milk characteristics. But their muscles are somewhat less developed, especially in comparison with European black-and-white cattle.

The highest milk yields from this breed of cows are obtained in Israel. It should be noted that many dairy cattle breeders are attracted to Holstein cows. Their price on the world market reaches $ 4,000 per individual. For example: thoroughbred American Holstein heifers can be purchased at a price of $3,754 per piece, and pedigree Russian heifers can be purchased at a price of 260 rubles per kilogram.
