Founding a business

Irkutsk plant of heavy engineering began its history in 1907. Convoy workshops were built on the site of the current giant, producing products for the Russian army. In 1912, an iron foundry was added to the workshops.

Soviet power came to Irkutsk in 1920, the production facilities were nationalized, the convoy enterprise was named "Agricultural Plant". During the period of restoration of the country after the devastating Civil War, the enterprise produced plows, winnowing machines, horseshoes, axes and much more that the nascent collective farms needed.

Heavy Engineering Pioneer

In 1927, the plant was transferred to the balance of the Soyuzzoloto system, the workshops mastered the production of equipment for the gold mining industry. In 1929, the workshops became the base for the construction of the Irkutsk heavy engineering plant named after Kuibyshev, the start of economic and production activities was given a year later.

Before the war, IZTM started production of equipment for metallurgical plants, open-hearth and blast furnaces, rolling mills left the shops. With the outbreak of war, the Staro-Kramatorsk Machine-Building Plant from Donetsk was evacuated to the territory of the Irkutsk Heavy Engineering Plant, all shops were transferred to the production of products for the needs of the front. In 1945, for outstanding services and contribution to the Victory, IZTM was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

Main stages of development

In the post-war decades, the Irkutsk plant of heavy engineering increased the pace of production, mastered the production of new products, modernized production lines, and purchased the latest equipment for workshops. In 1946, the company produced 13 completely new types of machines, 14 modernized types of machinery and equipment for the leading industries - metallurgical, mining and processing, gold mining, oil.

In 1947, at IZTM, in the design bureau of the enterprise, the project was completed and the main components of a 150-liter river dredge intended for gold mining were transferred to production.

In 1966, the company finished manufacturingmachines designed for pouring ferroalloys. The technique became unique - the length of the conveyor was 70 meters, and the ingots were poured out weighing 80 kilograms.

In 1967, the plant presented its products at the All-Union Exhibition (VDNKh), where he received a diploma. In the same year, the world's largest 600-liter electric dredge was launched at the enterprise. Also, unique equipment was designed for the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant - equipment for pouring ferrophosphorus and equipment for a blast furnace, the volume of which amounted to 5580 cubic meters.

In 1977, the plant supplied equipment for the largest industrial facility of that time - blast furnace No. 6 in Novolipetsk.

Since 1992, the enterprise has been transformed into OJSC Irkutsk Plant of Heavy Engineering. To overcome the crisis situations that occurred in the production sector, in 2003 a design group was created at the plant, whose tasks were to develop new products and modernize production. In 2017, the enterprise was transformed into an open joint-stock company "Production company" IZTM ".

Modernity

The main activities of the Irkutsk heavy engineering plant is the design and manufacture of equipment for the leading industries - gold mining, processing, as well as for ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. More than 600 specialists work in the workshops,The territory of the plant occupies 40 thousand square meters. During the year, the plant produces about 7 thousand tons of metal products supplied to the domestic and foreign markets.

During the entire period of activity, more than 180 dredges came out of the workshops of the plant. Equipment for blast furnaces manufactured at IZTM is found at all specialized enterprises of the former USSR and in some foreign countries. More than 150 mining processing plants are equipped with equipment manufactured in Irkutsk. The plant produces non-standard equipment, often the products are made in a single copy, which speaks not only of the modern technical base of the company, but also of the high professionalism of all participants in the process.

Development and achievements

The IZTM Design Bureau has an experimental base where new equipment is created, which has no analogues not only in Russia, but also in the world. The ability to create custom-made large-sized equipment allows the company to constantly develop and be competitive. Among the leading customers of the enterprise are the largest companies of the CIS - Sayanogorsk and Bratsk aluminum plants, Mikhailovsky GOK, Severstal, Krivorozhstal and many others.

In 2005, the plant received a gold medal at the Siberian Subsoil Use 2005 exhibition for the quality of its products, in 2008 the enterprise was among the winners of the innovation projects competition held by the Irkutsk regional administration. Every year the company concludes a large number of cooperation agreements, so, since 2008, the companycooperates with foundry company "Nadezhda" (China). The result of joint activities was an increase in production volumes.

No less fruitful was the cooperation with the Russian fertilizer giant ZAO North-West Phosphorus Company. IZTM won the tender for the production of thickeners. Thanks to the implementation of this order, the total annual production of IZTM increased by 5%, the contract amount is estimated at 30 million rubles.
