The Chamora Turusi strawberry variety is remarkable for its large berries, commensurate with medium-sized apples, the aroma of wild strawberries and high yields - about 2.5 kg per bush with proper agricultural practices!
It is not known for certain its origin, but there is an assumption that it could not have done without Japanese technology. Although there is an opposite version: this form is amateur, bred by strawberry enthusiasts. Other names have also been assigned to the variety: "Kurusi", "Turush".
This variety is late ripening. The first harvest in central Russia ripens by June 20, and in the northern regions by July 25. Fruiting is extended, the maximum yield is harvested in the 2nd year of cultivation. Admire how beautiful it is - Chamora Turusi strawberries! The photographs show it so that saliva begins to collect in the mouth. In addition to the appetizing appearance, this variety is distinguished by such quality as excellent transportability.
Berries are round-conical in shape, sometimes folded-comb. The weight of each of them is from 80 to 130 g, depending on the growing conditions. When fully ripe, they become darkred and acquire the smell of wild strawberries. The berries are most fragrant in August.
Chamora turusi strawberry bushes form powerful. They are genetically based on intensive growth. Planted in the spring, they are able to appear in all their glory in two months. But it is undesirable to allow fruiting this year, because the root system
not yet fully formed. It is very difficult to remove flower stalks during this period. For the sake of experiment, you can do this on part of the planted bushes, the next year the difference will be obvious.
If the bushes of this miracle berry are not properly cared for, but only planted in fertile soil and watered, then the berries will weigh only about 25 g. In order to achieve maximum performance, you will have to work hard. The most difficult thing is to find high-quality planting material grown from the first rosettes on the mustache. It is preferable to transplant strawberries without exposing the root system in order to minimize the survival period. It is impossible to thicken landings. The optimal scheme is 40 x 60 cm.
The beds for planting must be prepared in advance, introducing organic matter and mineral fertilizers. It is advisable to make borders around the bed 25 cm high (to facilitate shelter at the beginning of the growing season).
Because Chamora Turusi has a strong root system, fertilizing with a high nitrogen content should not be used, otherwise fruiting will be suppressed by the growth of green mass. But phosphorus-potassium spraying on the leaves is simply necessary for her.
It is worth mentioning the problems of growing such a crop as "chamora turusi" strawberry. Unfortunately, this variety is not very resistant to fungal diseases such as brown spot and gray mold. She needs preventive treatments with appropriate drugs. However, with a complete replacement of planting material after 1-2 years, you can do without them.
The requirements for watering are high, with a lack of them, the berries become smaller, cavities form inside, the appearance deteriorates, but the taste only benefits from this - it becomes sweeter. An excess of moisture adversely affects the taste and transportability. Chamora strawberries do not tolerate summer heat in the southern regions of Russia; they need to be shaded. It is desirable to provide drip irrigation.
Summing up, let's say that the Chamora Turusi strawberry is an amazing variety! Reviews about him can be diametrically opposed. If there is an opportunity to purchase at least a few high-quality bushes (of course, if the supplier guarantees that this is the Chamora variety), you should definitely use it at least in order to surprise and please loved ones.
