Advantages of wooden windows

Wood windows have a number of advantages over other materials from which they can be made:

• They have an attractive appearance due to the wood structure. They are in perfect harmony with wooden furniture and doors installed in the room. They have refinement and high functional ability.
• Windows "breathe". Only wood has this ability. The tree regulates the he althy microclimate of the room in which the windows from it are installed. • Highly durable despite being vulnerable to fireor moisture. To improve the quality of wood, the manufacture of wooden windows is carried out using various impregnations and compositions that ensure their operation for a long time without losing their original appearance.
• Meets a high level of durability. The quality of the wood from which it is planned to manufacture wooden windows is assessed upon purchase. The most commonly used three-layer glued laminated timber, the minimum thickness of which is seventy millimeters. Such a bar prevents the window from deforming and ensures its stability.
• Possess low thermal conductivity due to glued beam. Thermal conductivity largely depends on how the rules of the technological process will be observed.
• Eco-friendly and safe. Wood meets these conditions - a natural material that does not emit harmful substances.
• Easy to repair. The production of wooden windows compares favorably with a reduction in the cost of restoration, repair and maintenance.

Russian windows

Have one separate part with one box and two glazed doors. Made from solid pine with a leaf thickness of four centimeters. The main drawback is deformation, since the sashes do not completely adjoin the window. Moisture from the street penetrates into the room, the windows fog up, condensation accumulates on the windowsill.

Production of wooden windows is possible with double frames. They are equipped with non-adjustable hinges and handles, due to which there is no ventilation.

German windows

They are called European windows, as they are equipped with fittings from foreign manufacturers. These windows compare favorably with Russian ones. They can be adjusted in height and angle of inclination of the sash, to ventilate. They differ in the presence of locking mechanisms.

Finnish windows

They have a wide box and two flaps that open in sequence. The outer sash is made of wood or aluminium, it is with one simple glass, and the inner sash is with a single-chamber double-glazed window.

Aluminum-wood windows

Wooden window technology

Exact adherence to the sequence of work performed ensures high-quality installation of windows. The sequence is as follows:

• Glued laminated timber is being prepared. Wood is cleaned of bark, knots and cracks. Boards are sorted by colors, species, structure and other parameters. Then they are impregnated with a protective composition and dried in chambers up to eight to twelve percent of natural humidity. After drying, spikes and grooves of microscopic dimensions are cut to connect the components. The finished timber is sent to a well-ventilated area for storage.
• Frames are made of glued beams, consisting of lamellas connected in three layers. The raw material is wood of coniferous trees: larch, cedar, pine. Wooden windows, the price of which is much higher, are made from valuable and more expensive types of wood: oak, eucalyptus. The shape of the frames depends on the configuration of the windows, which are standard, triangular, arched, trapezoidal.
• Glued laminated timber is cut depending on the specified dimensions and sent to the machine for further work with it. Here, grooves and glazing beads are selected, so that they will not loosen. Component parts are carefully polished. This provides protection against moisture ingress. Then they proceed to the assembly of finished blanks using the corner assembly technology of eurowindows.

• Coloring. This process takes place in a large bath with the addition ofprimer solution where the window is immersed. This is done repeatedly, but each coat of primer must dry. After that, the product is painted with a coating or glazing composition of the desired color.
• Installation of all kinds of fittings. Its installation is carried out using milling and drilling machines. Imported fittings.
• Glazing. For this work, the structure is placed on a horizontal surface. A double-glazed window is installed, fastened with glazing beads using a gun in which there are driven studs. Their ends are not visible on the surface, as they are bitten off and then polished. The seams are sealed with silicone. The price of wooden windows depends on the material of manufacture and the manufacturer. They are cheaper from pine than from larch and oak. Windows of foreign companies are more expensive than domestic ones. Approximate prices start from 35-40 thousand with installation.

Wooden Window Machinery

Technical means are designed to perform certain operations for the production of windows. Obtaining high-quality structures is possible with the non-stop and well-coordinated work of all machines, which, according to their functional purpose, are:

• Circular and miter saws. With their help, pre-processing of wood blanks is carried out.
• Guttering machine. The manufacture of wooden windows on it is the most dangerous, since during operation the knives rotate at high speed, which do not have protective devices. On this machine, workpieces are aligned and right angles are made at the ends.
• Machinethicknesser. Here the blanks are given a certain size. This is the safest unit as all moving parts are protected by screens, shrouds or sheets.

• Milling machine. It is designed for processing workpieces with knives rotating at high speed. Caution is the main principle of working on this machine. Here, spikes and eyelets are made that connect window sashes, pattern and quarters, necessary for the installation of glass or glass blocks.
• Clamps or clamps. Here, the blanks are processed with adhesive compositions. After drying, the finished products are sanded and prepared for painting using vibratory sanders.
