People don't have much love in general, do they? Someone who is different from them, they rush to somehow call, hang a label. From the same series, the expression "goner man", the meaning of which we will analyze today. And we will understand whether it is worth sounding the alarm when you are described in this way.

I must say that such a characteristic is primarily an indicator of public opinion. Sometimes the wording reflects the essence of the matter, sometimes not. If we talk about social accomplishments, then this is usually called people who have been defeated in the fight against life. They were left out of the notorious success, as well as a normal existence in general.

The explanatory dictionary deciphers this phrase in this way: “Nothing more capable, from whom nothing can be expected in the future.”

We will not name those who suffered a crushing defeat, and why this happened, our social problems are well known to everyone to name them again.

When we see a frankly downtrodden person who looks bad and does nottakes care of himself, it seems to us that this is a finished person and his significance for society is obvious. But there is one subtlety: sometimes the object of research is applied to the wrong people.

Let's imagine any community, for example, a large company. It includes like-minded people, and they work desperately. One fine day, a person gets a job, who at first is glad of the opportunity to work in a large company, then (quite quickly) the work begins to oppress him, and he leaves. So, in the last two weeks, his colleagues treat him as if he were a leper, that is, a finished person. The meaning of the word, we hope, does not need to be explained.

Should I say that in this case, the victims of the stereotype should be considered the colleagues of the resigning rather than himself? A simple Bulgakovian conclusion follows from this: “You never know what can be said! Not everything is to be believed.”
