Employment of people with disabilities - how realistic is it

If you translate the word "disabled" from Latin, it means - weak, incapable, unfit. Even in recent times (the Soviet period), there was almost never any mention of the disabled themselves, their lives, needs, as if they did not exist at all.

Today the situation has changed a lot, gradually began to create conditions for the normal life of these people. Buildings of state institutions, shops are provided with a ramp or at least a call to call an employee. There was a law providing employment for disabled people.

If we take, for example, the UK, then there the employment of a disabled person is taken under the control of social services. It doesn't even matter what kind of physical limitations a person has. Work at home is organized for seriously ill people, and special transport is provided for those who work outside the home. All this is carried out at the expense of the state.

Employment of people with disabilities in Russia in recent years has begun to gain momentum, especially when it became possible to freely access the Internet. Today, even on job search sites, there issection "remote work", there is an opportunity to find a job in your speci alty, for example, to keep accounts of an organization.

Remote work has a number of positive factors. Most importantly, this is work from home. For people who are unable to move independently, this is very important. Work at home is performed at a time when it is convenient for a disabled person, when his well-being allows. And the psychological moment is very important when a person feels that he is needed and useful to someone.

Unfortunately, the employment of disabled people (the procedure itself) has many difficulties and peculiarities. Therefore, the number of entrepreneurs who are ready to hire a disabled person is not too large. The employer should not just hire a disabled person to work, he should organize a workplace for him, the work should not be hard, and the working day should be a certain number of hours.

In general, according to the law, if the number of employees in an organization is more than 100 people, then there is a quota of jobs for the disabled. The employment of disabled people is a certain percentage of the average number of employees, but this should not be less than 2%. For Moscow, this quota is 4%.

By law, the employment of persons with disabilities provides for the following obligations for the employer:

- allocate or create the necessary number of jobs for people with disabilities;

- create the necessary working conditions, according to an individual programrehabilitation (IPR), for each disabled person;

- provide information in a timely manner that is needed to organize the employment of people with disabilities.

If a person is denied employment just because he is disabled, then this is a direct violation of the law, which entails an administrative fine imposed on officials. Such a fine cannot be imposed on those employers who prove that they did not hire a disabled person solely because of the discrepancy between his business qualities.

Work for the disabled in Moscow and other large cities is more real than in a small town or district center. For example, a hairdressing salon has been set up in Moscow, where craftsmen who are hearing-impaired work. Yes, and with home-based work, things are easier there, the necessary parts are delivered by courier and the finished product is picked up by him. For people with disabilities living somewhere in the outback, the best option is to work remotely via the Internet, or using Russian mail.
