Aerosol generator - a device that sprays the mixture a short distance in front of it. Depending on the composition in it, it performs different functions. For example, fire fighting or refrigeration and air conditioning.

What types of aerosol generators are there?

Generator types
Generator types

They can be divided into two types:

  • mechanical;
  • thermomechanical.

Mechanical - sprays an aerosol consisting of small mixed particles. These generators can also be divided into subgroups. They are:

  1. Pneumatic. In them, the speed of the jet depends on the pressure of the gas supplied to it.
  2. Disk. In such devices, a centrifuge is installed. Spraying occurs due to centrifugal force, namely, the jet is fed to a rapidly rotating disk. After that, it is ejected outside the generator. The jet size depends on the speed of the centrifuge.
  3. Ultrasonic. In such generators, the aerosol supply occurs due to high sound vibrations. They cannot be heard by human ears. Ultrasound changes the state of magnetization of bodies,because of which its volume changes. Under this action, spraying occurs.

There is also a second type of generators - thermomechanical. These devices create mixtures formed by condensation, as well as mechanical compositions. They are produced by crushing a liquid that forms an aerosol. Then the composition is fed into the compartment where the combustion of the fuel mixture takes place. After these vapors enter the atmosphere, condensation occurs and they turn into an aerosol.

What industries are used?

Due to the convenience of this method, aerosol generators are used in many industries, such as:

  1. Fire fighting. A special mixture is able to quickly spread throughout the room and remove the flame in a short period of time.
  2. Agriculture. The aerosol generator is capable of spraying the mixture over a large area in a short time, as well as watering. The device is also used for disinfection and pest control.
  3. Air conditioning. These generators use a special mixture that creates a certain temperature. There are also compounds that disinfect the air.

There are two types of aerosol generators - fire extinguishing and disinfection generators. The principle of their operation will be described below.

Fire Generator

The aerosol fire extinguishing generator is widely used in various industries. But not all places are allowed to install such devices. It is forbiddenuse aerosols for fire safety:

  1. In areas from which people cannot evacuate before the mixture is sprayed. Inhalation of aerosol particles can adversely affect human he alth, including death.
  2. In premises where there are a large number of people (60 or more). As a rule, these are catering places and shops.
  3. In rooms where the degree and level of fire resistance is below the mark of three points.

Where such a mixture is located, a sign must be installed indicating this.

For the first time, the principle of operation of an aerosol generator was described in 1820 by Shumlyansky. He used a composition that included gunpowder, water and clay to extinguish the fire. In 1845, Ken (according to some sources - Kuhn) proposed the use of mixtures in boxes, which included s altpeter and coal. These containers had to be thrown into the epicenter of the fire and the door tightly closed. At that time, there were a lot of leaky rooms, because of which aerosols were considered ineffective and were abandoned.

There is a minus - the generators do not provide complete extinguishing of the flame.

Condition - the mixture should not contain:

  • fibrous, loose, porous and other combustible materials prone to spontaneous combustion and smoldering inside the substance layer;
  • metal powders;
  • chemical substances and their mixtures, polymeric materials capable of smoldering and burning without air access;
  • metal hydrides and pyrophoric substances.

Disinfection aerosol generator is widely used for the treatment of various plantations. The device is easy to install, easy to refill, and gets the job done faster. Also ensures uniform distribution and minimal chemical fluid costs.

Generators can be used to kill pests, which is very useful during hot periods. It sprays a poisonous mist or cloud made up of pesticides suspended in the air. According to the norms, the liquid flow in the device should be 1-5 liters / hectare.

Such substances can also be obtained with the help of smoldering. For example, using smoke bombs or tablets that are saturated with a toxic substance. But this method is much more expensive in terms of costs.

Are all generators big?

All kinds of devices above have very low mobility. Some of them are generally permanently installed; their transfer requires dismantling.

The Pro Ulv aerosol generator solves the problem, it has an extremely low volume of working fluid, but high mobility. It can be held with one hand, which in some situations speeds up and simplifies the pollination process. These generators only produce cold mist. This can be called their disadvantage.

What is cold and hot fog?

Let's consider the scope of various types of spraying.

Cold mist generators can be used to kill insects, as well as for medical purposes. With sucha mobile device makes it much easier to disinfect rooms in hospitals or private homes.

Aerosol hot mist generators are a more reliable means of exterminating insects. These devices produce a thick hot slurry that does its job in no time. As already described at the beginning of the article, these generators use combustion chambers for a fuel mixture that contains a toxic substance. When these vapors enter the atmosphere, condensation occurs and the vapor is converted into a poisonous mist.
