Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant named after Gorky: enterprise prospects

JSC Zelenodolsk Gorky Shipbuilding Plant is the pride of Tatarstan. For more than 120 years, the company has been producing civil and military ships, repairing and servicing ships of various classes.

History

Zelenodolsk shipyard has been operating since the end of the 19th century. On October 10, 1895, by the decision of the Kazan Ministry of Communications, ship repair workshops were built in the Paratsky backwater. After the October Revolution, part of the workshops of the Izhora and B altic plants were moved to Paratsk, where the Volga Mechanical Autonomous Shipbuilding Plant was formed, in 1922 renamed Krasny Metallist.

In 1932 the enterprise was named after Maxim Gorky. In 1934, the plant received its first defense order: the construction of river armored boats under projects 1124 and 1125 began. During the Second World War, 2800 workers from a five thousandth team went to the front.

In the 60s, the production of the famous "Meteors" - motor ships equipped with "hydrofoils" was mastered. Total356 units were produced. The developed design solutions allow the plant to remain the leader in the development of domestic high-speed vessels today.

Today Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant is a modern enterprise capable of translating the most advanced ideas of designers and engineers into metal. Since 2005, it has been part of the Ak-Bars holding.

Advanced technology

The production and technical base at the Gorky Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant makes it possible to build ships of medium and small types. The total number of employees is about 5,000 people. The enterprise has introduced progressive principles of position-in-line construction of ships, starting from the launch of metal into production and ending with the commissioning of the constructed watercraft.

Programmable equipment, CNC machines are widely used. Computerization allows you to cut out of metal and process parts of almost any configuration. At the stage of assembly and welding of cases, it uses the best world-class welding equipment. Welding is used here:

• automatic submerged arc;
• semi-automatic in shielding gases.

With quality mark

A ship is a complex engineering structure. It is necessary that the built ships be on the move in any adverse conditions. The most serious requirements are imposed on the quality of components and components. All metal structures undergo ultrasonic testing, which guaranteeslack of marriage, hidden cracks, inhomogeneities of materials.

The final stage of the construction of ships is the assembly, installation of equipment and the delivery of the facility to the customer. At the Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant, workers hold a touching ceremony, sending their "ward" on a big voyage.

Equipment

The enterprise has three large slipway outfitting workshops, in which both civilian and military ships are assembled in parallel. Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant of A. M. Gorky is equipped with a unique Volga complex.

The complex is equipped with a loading dock chamber with a water area defrosting system in winter. This allows for the construction, launching of floating craft with a high degree of readiness, as well as mooring trials all year round.

Military products

Zelenodolsk Shipbuilding Plant is a recognized center for the construction of latest generation patrol ships (corvettes), including low visibility. On the basis of the head TFR "Tatarstan", two vessels "Gepard-3.9" were built in 2014 for the needs of the Russian Navy. A contract was also signed with the Vietnamese government for several ships of this type.

Engineers claim that the SKR project 11661 embodies all the experience gained over decades of construction. The tasks of the warship include:

• sentinel service;
• escort operations;
• water area protection;
• fight against submarines, air and sea targets.

On hisarmament:

• 76mm AK-176M artillery system and two large-caliber MTPU mounts;
• up to eight Caliber-NK long-range cruise missiles;
• anti-submarine and torpedo-mine weapons;
• missile weapons ("Wasp", "Broadsword", "Hurricane", "Igla-M");
• electronic warfare systems.

The project implemented a unique layout of power plants. They are placed in several isolated compartments. Even if two of them are flooded, the TFR remains able to carry out combat missions.

Civilian products

Undoubtedly, the Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant is the number 1 plant in Russia for the production of civilian ships. Project A45-1 "Lena" is one of the latest developments of the enterprise. The planing-type speed boat is capable of delivering 100 passengers at a distance of up to 650 km (maximum 70 km/h).

The first A45 was built in 2006 for the Vienna Inland Shipping Company. Based on it, an improved model A45-1 was designed - four boats of this project are already cruising along the Yenisei.

Fishing seiners of projects RS-600 and 11006, trawlers of projects HS65T and HS45T, research vessels of projects 50010, 11002, 11005 and others left the stocks of the plant.

In addition to watercraft, the company has mastered related products. They produce titanium products, components and assemblies for the machine-building complex, oil and gas equipment, fittings, large-sized bridge metal structures, hull and ship furniture. Masteredhot anti-corrosion galvanizing of steel pipes and racks up to 5.3 m long.

Prospects

Now Gorky's Zelenodolsk shipbuilding plant, together with the Agat design bureau, is creating a high-speed civil vessel of the A145 project. It also uses the gliding principle of movement. The appearance of the boat corresponds to the world analogues: smooth streamlined lines create a resemblance to expensive yachts.

Lightweight aluminum hull is equipped with everything necessary for comfortable and reliable navigation of passengers and crew. There is a bar in the center of the salon with adjustable easy chairs, large video panels allow you to pass the time. The captain's cabin resembles a fighter cockpit: perfect control ergonomics, good visibility, an abundance of LCD monitors. A spacious viewing platform is provided on top of the vessel.

Thanks to the increased power of the twin propulsion system (2x1440 kW versus 2x1080 kW in the A45-1 model), the ship will allow transporting 150 passengers with luggage over a distance of 200 miles (more than 300 km) with a maximum speed in open areas up to 40 knots (74 km/h).

The design of the hull provides a stable movement in waves of 4 points. The first two vessels of the A145 project were launched in 2011 and 2012. They were used to serve the guests of the Sochi Olympics.

At the same time, the improvement of manufactured and development of new warships continues.

Cooperation

The main partner of the Zelenodolsk plant is the Navy - the state customer,guaranteeing a large amount of work. The quality of the ships produced by the enterprise meets the strict requirements of the military. The second most important customer is Rosoboronexport. The Gepard TFR project has attracted the interest of many foreign partners.

Russian and foreign civil shipping companies show interest in high-speed vessels of A45-1 and A145 projects. Great hopes are pinned on fishing boats for various purposes.
