What is industrial Barnaul known for? Since 2012, CHPP-2 in this city has been part of the Barnaul Generation joint-stock company, which, in turn, was formed on the basis of the reorganized energy enterprise Kuzbassenergo. The first thermal power plant was built back in the 1930s and by the time indicated above had used up its resource to the full extent - further use of the capacities was associated with a significant risk of unforeseen situations. And back in 1955, the first boiler and steam turbine were put into operation at this enterprise. Then the complex was designed to provide heat and energy to the whole of Barnaul, it was with this launch that the unified energy system of the region was born.

History of city heat supply

Barnaul CHPP was built in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Then three boilers were put into operation with a serious capacity of 170 tons of steam per hour at that time. Three turbines were also put into operation, with a total capacity of 75 MW. In the nineties of the last century, the capacities of CHPP-2 were transferred to the mode of operation on the basis of natural gas. In order to compensate for retired old capacities, it was adopteddecision to put a new modern CHP plant into operation. The ninth block of the thermal power plant was solemnly opened at the end of last year.

Recently, residents of Barnaul celebrated their anniversary - the heads of the Siberian Generating Company, as well as representatives of the local Altai administration, congratulated the workers of the thermal power industry on their sixtieth birthday. However, in spite of everything, today the enterprise can be proud of the worthy reputation that had to be earned over the years and decades.

Among the new challenges, according to station director Alexander Lukyanov, are aging equipment and the need to introduce the latest technologies. One of the main directions in the work of the enterprise is the need to attract and further train new personnel - young professionals. Modernization has already begun: in the last three years, two turbine units have been replaced, part of the boiler equipment has been reconstructed. The reliability of generation has been increased, while there is an increase in the capacity of heat and electricity.

Heat power engineering and labor dynasties

A characteristic feature of generating companies is a traditionally stable staff. Professionals often spend their entire adult lives here. CHPP-2 is proud of labor dynasties! Most of all, the Kosilov-Nosikhins worked here - the experience of this family was 211 years! And there are at least five such dynasties.

Returning to the history of the enterprise, it must be said that 2014 was the year of commissioning of new power units of the thermal power plant, which was preceded by a large-scale and deep preliminary reconstruction. And a year earlier, the newest boiler unit, unique in its economic and environmental characteristics, was launched, which made it possible to significantly increase such an indicator as steam output by 40 tons of steam per hour.

The team of this extractive heat enterprise today has about a thousand employees.

Power plant accident

CHPP-2 is known, in particular, because of the accident at the enterprise. At the beginning of this year, an unusual situation occurred here, which led to serious technical problems. Barnaul CHPP-2 suffered from a fire. As a result, the power supply cables of the pumps supplying water were damaged. There was a stop of two turbines and three boiler units. At the same time, two turbines and four boilers remained in operation. The city had to declare a state of emergency. It should be noted that by the end of the next working day the situation stabilized, and the accident at CHPP-2 was localized. The station entered the normal work schedule for supplying the heating system with water at a temperature of about 85 degrees. Houses left without hot water again receivedwater supply is normal.

At the moment, CHPP-2 not only operates in normal mode, but also generates energy in volumes that significantly exceed previous indicators. Thus, in March of this year, the thermal power plant generated 101 million kWh of electrical energy, which is more than 7% higher than the same indicator of the efficiency of the previous year. The analysis of quarterly indicators is no less optimistic. According to the quarterly results, the growth in energy generation amounted to more than 27%.

This trend was made possible by the commissioning of new equipment in March and December last year. The eighth and ninth blocks of the station have undergone a significant modernization in accordance with the program of power supply agreements. Investments in the station (and this is about 6 billion rubles) had a direct impact on improving its technical condition. Now that the new equipment is already in operation, the capacity of CHPP-2 has been increased by 20 MW. It is noteworthy that the related organization, CHPP-3, is currently one of the most productive Russian generating companies.

How colleagues work

Not only Barnaul is known for similar stations. CHP-2 of a similar format is also in other cities. The same history and prospects for development of the thermal power plant of the Perm Territory. Its location was the city of Berezniki. CHPP-2 in Berezniki has entered a phase of deep modernization. Now it is planned to put new capacities into operation - Novobereznikovskaya CHPP is promised to be completed by the end of this year. Investments have already been attracted - almost 13 billion rubles. At the same time, the regional leadership plans to invest twice as much funds in the project after the launch of generating capacities.

According to the governor of the region, it is important that new technologies are being introduced, which means that the situation with tariffs will gradually stabilize, since the costs of generating heat and electricity will also be optimized.

CHPP-2 in Berezniki

The new capacities should replace the Berezniki thermal power plant that has existed for more than half a century. The equipment has already been delivered to Berezniki. Building in an open field, on the one hand, is difficult. It is necessary to erect all the necessary buildings of auxiliary infrastructure. However, on the other hand, such a construction option will help create a truly modern compact complex without unnecessary equipment and industrial systems that are unnecessary today. Novoberezniki will be based on two steam turbines of 40 MW each, as well as two gas engines of 75 MW each. The total planned capacity of the combined cycle plant should reach 230 MW.

At the end of construction, a situation should be resolved in which the wear and tear of equipment and the moral inconsistency of technologies with modern requirements exist in a complexwith an energy deficit. The new CHPP is additionally equipped with special boilers designed for waste disposal. This will ensure the most complete combustion of fuel in the future and, accordingly, a significant reduction in the harmful impact on the environment.

Kaliningraders are already working in a new way

On the path of improvement, you should focus on the best - Kaliningrad CHPP-2 is now one of the most modern Russian power plants. It has long been equipped with equipment that allows you to discharge exhaust gases into waste heat boilers. In addition to the fact that the thermal power plant provides for the needs of the city and the region, in the future it is planned to cooperate on energy supplies with neighboring Lithuania. The station was built ten years ago, but the economic effect of using the latest technologies is already quite noticeable. City heating systems are quite reliable, and the environmental situation is controlled - combined-cycle plants of the new type CCGT 450 are economical, they operate on natural gas, while full utilization of the heat of exhaust gases is ensured.

Environment and development

As far as possible, the impact of all types of negative impact on the ecological situation in the region has been minimized. The plans of the Kaliningrad power engineers to expand their activities in the city and the region include the construction of a second thermal main and further expansion of the scope of activities, including effective cooperation with the Lithuanian side regarding the export of heat and electricity.
