Poultry breeding in home gardens and summer cottages has long been not only a hobby, but also an excellent source of replenishing the diet of citizens. The owners of the bird stock strive to breed not only a highly productive bird, but also a beautiful one. Colored broilers are great for satisfying the aesthetic demands of hobby poultry farmers.

History

Modern poultry farming is aimed at obtaining birds with increased productivity, unpretentiousness in maintenance and low payment for feed. These requirements are met by a colored broiler. A description of some breeds of this bird is given below in the text. A common characteristic for all is unpretentiousness in maintenance, excellent adaptation to various climatic conditions and high productivity.

Colored broilers provide their owners with excellent meat in terms of taste and delight with high egg production. Young animals are fattened quickly and after a couple of months they are gaining weight up to 2.5 kg.

Breeds

No doubt these breedsbreeders can be proud. Colored broilers are divided into several types: master gris, redbro, neck neck. All of them are distinguished by increased meat and egg productivity: egg production can reach 300 eggs per year, the weight of adults is 5 kg.

Colored broilers have excellent growth and development rates. Compared to peers of other breeds of the egg direction, by the age of one month, they are heavier than them by at least 300 grams. By 35 days of age, chicks often gain one kilogram of live weight, and sometimes more.

Colored broiler is becoming more and more popular among small farmers and owners of private houses. A versatile bird, capable of providing dietary food in large quantities, cannot but be of interest to amateur and professional poultry farmers.

If the products obtained are important for a private backyard, then colored broilers are also valuable for breeders in terms of using them to breed new breeds. Crossing species makes it possible to improve the meat quality of poultry, accelerate its growth and increase the taste of meat.

Red Bro

Colored broiler redbro is bred by crossing two main breeds: Malay fighting chickens and Cornish. Bred in England over 90 years ago, today the most famous breeding centers for these broilers are located in the USA and France.

• The plumage is dense, has a red, red-brown color.
• The head is big.
• Short beak.
• Bright red earlobes and leafy comb.
• Highly visible relief muscles.
• The legs are fat.
• Developed metatarsals.

They are he althy, do not need vaccinations and antibiotics. The bird is strong, resistant to diseases, easily gets used to new conditions.

Redbro productivity:

• egg production - 160 eggs (some specimens give up to 300 pieces);
• egg mass - 60 grams;
• chicken live weight - 3 kg;
• live weight of the cock is 4.5 kg.

Young hens start laying at the age of 5-6 months, and the bulk of the bird is gaining by 6 months. Dietary meat is lean and fibrous. The breed perfectly pays for food, at the age of 35 days, young animals can reach a weight of 1.2 kg, and at two months - already more than 2.5 kg.

Master Gris

Colored broiler (photo in text) master gray (gris) bred in France, refers to chickens with meat and egg productivity.

Beautiful bird, gray-white color, unpretentious and hardy. Feels great with floor and cellular content. Calm, sociable, almost tame chickens reach 4 kg of live weight. Roosters can weigh up to 7 kg.

Chickens grow fast and together: the survival rate is 98%. By one and a half months they gain 1.5 kg, by two -2.5 kg.

Despite the fact that the breed is declared as meat and egg, the egg production of Master Gray is very decent - 300 eggs, weighing 65-70 grams. They begin to rush at four months.

FoxyFoxy Chick

Chickens foxy chik meat-and-egg direction of productivity. Considered ideal for home keeping:

• chicken safety - 100%;
• egg production average up to 250 eggs;
• egg weight up to 70 grams, creamy shell;
• chicken live weight - 4 kg;
• live weight of a rooster - up to 7 kg.

In addition to good productivity, chickens have a beautiful appearance. Plumage color can vary from light red to deep brown-red. A bright large bird is just a decoration of the yard.

Naked Neck

The origin of this breed is not known for certain. Most common in Romania, Hungary, Germany. The most striking distinguishing feature is the lack of plumage in the neck area, even in chickens. Feather color in all possible shades.

Colored broiler (photo of a bare-necked bird - below) a medium-sized neck coat, has a dense fleshy body. The head is rounded with plumage in the occiput. The beak is somewhat curved. Straight comb, small size, single or adjustable.

The neck is red without plumage, curved. The base of the neck is decorated with fluffy feathers.

Convex wide chest rounded shape. The back is wide and flat. Wings tight to the body. Strong long shins, metatarsus not feathered.

The bird adapts well to various climatic conditions, tolerates cold well, but because of the bare neck, it is still mainly bred in the southernareas.

The only drawback of colored broilers is the difficulty of their reproduction. Breeding young animals are best purchased at poultry farms or specialized enterprises.

The variety of colored broilers is explained by the natural desire of specialists to bring out more perfect breeds and crosses. Species diversity is ensured through the use of not only broilers, but also meat-and-egg and egg-type poultry as initial breeds.
