Officially, the development of Boeing 757 airliners began in August 1978. The Boeing 757-200 was developed by the American company Boeing instead of the Boeing 727. The new aircraft was intended for operation on domestic airlines, as well as on international flights between the US and Europe.
The Boeing 757-100 160-seat airliner model was not further developed, so the company began developing new airliners. Engines of the JT10D-4 and RB211-535 types began to be used as power plants. In the first version, a model of aircraft with a take-off weight of up to 99.8 tons was certified, which was then increased to 115.6 tons during upgrades. The latest models were equipped with powerful bypass turbojet engines.
The main feature of the Boeing 757 was the simultaneous development of the 767 wide-body airliner, which was also seen as a highly economical model of a new type of aircraft. Boeing used a single on-board and electronic system, as well as a common cockpit for the crew.
Today, this type of aircraft is considered the best project of the company and is widely used by a large number of carriers. The production of Boeing 757-200 aircraft was completed in 2004. A total of 1050 models of aircraft of this type were produced. Advanced technology has been incorporated into the design, primarily for fuel efficiency, low noise levels and improved comfort and performance.
Boeing 757-200 has been in operation since 1983 and continues to be operated by many airlines and is currently on air routes with a distance of up to 3000-7000 km. In comparison with similar models, the aircraft is manufactured with an increased total number of passenger seats. The Boeing 757-200, whose photo allows you to see the cabin of the aircraft, is distinguished by its safety and comfortable conditions for passengers.
The aircraft has a capacity of over 200 people and is used mainly on busy air routes. The maximum speed of the airliner is 860 km/h with a maximum passenger capacity of up to 228 seats.
The Boeing 757-200 airliner, the cabin scheme of which depends on the chosen layout, has from 186 to 279 seats in the passenger compartment. There are two classes in the passenger cabin: business class and economy. Business Class can accommodate up to twenty reclining seats.
The design of the aircraft is based on a monoplane design with twoengines mounted on pylons under the wing. The fuselage of the Boeing 757-200 is made according to the semi-monocoque scheme. The landing gear of the aircraft was created on the basis of three pillars, the main ones of which are the rear ones. In addition to the passenger modification, a cargo version of the 757-200PF aircraft is also produced. This model carries out transportation of cargoes weighing up to 38 tons. An aircraft of this type is distinguished by a characteristic feature, which is the presence of a side door.
Boeing 757s are operated primarily by US companies, the largest of which are American Airlines and Delta Airlines.
