Preparation for work

The device should be mounted in the place of its subsequent operation. When installing, do not lift the equipment by the shaft. The machine must be placed in a dry, closed and lit room on a flat, hard surface. As a result, you need to fix the unit with bolts to the floor.

Then you need to do the following operations:

  • Install and secure the shaft on the flange with a wrench.
  • Mount the protective cover with spring.
  • Install automatic rim width measuring tool.
  • Some versions will require installation of an electronic radial beat calculator.
  • Connect the power supply according to the rules specified in the instructions.
  • Connect the pneumatic supply, if provided.

Operation

Before installing the wheel on the balancer shaft, remove debris and foreign objects, and make sure the shaft and rim centering sphere are clean.

Further manipulations are performed as follows:

  1. The cone optimally suitable for the element to be processed is selected.
  2. The wheel is carefully placed to its fixed position onsupport flange.
  3. The wheel is turned by the inner part of the rim towards the machine opposite the cone.
  4. The protective cap is mounted and fixed.
  5. Some aluminum variations need to be mounted with a cone on the outside of the wheel. The rest of the operations are identical to the above methods.

Turning the unit on and off

The balancer is equipped with a main switch located at the rear of the machine. To activate the device, enter the program and turn on the system by turning the main toggle switch to the ON position. When carrying out this operation, do not come close to the rotating elements.

Please wait a while for the operating system to load. The display will then show the first program page. Several options will be presented on the screen. The remaining functions of the technique in question are controlled by five keys located at the bottom of the monitor.

Calibration

Over time, the used unit begins to give not quite accurate readings. You can check its work as follows:

  1. Take a wheel, for example, the 16th radius.
  2. Install it on the machine and enter the required parameters in manual mode.
  3. Activate the start button.
  4. After processing, the result is 25-30. We fill the weights and start the unit again. The result may be 05-10.
  5. If after the third launch the program asks to add another load parameter, it is necessary to check the cones for backlash and their fit on the shaft.

In the presence of these problems, mandatory calibration of balancing machines will be required. This can be done like this:

  • After bringing the program parameters to 00-00, stuff a hundred-gram weight and start the machine. Under normal operation, the parameters should become 00-100.
  • Think about calibration if there are differences of 5 units(for example, 05-95). You can still work on such a unit, but you will need to check the backlash and fastening.
  • If the final value after starting the shaft with a test weight exceeds 15 units, an urgent calibration of the device is necessary.
  • If the actions taken to set the parameters do not lead to parameters 00-100, it will be necessary to carry out maintenance of the equipment, clean it from contamination, and measure the mains voltage. Then recalibration is carried out.

Errors

Balancing machine errors and solutions are listed below:

  1. When starting, the device gives an error and does not start the shaft - it is necessary to check the latch of the casing. If this does not help, clean the appropriate internal sensor of dirt.
  2. When turned on, the machine does not start - check the socket and switch. If necessary, replace the elements.
  3. Violation of the ruler. To check, it is necessary to install a stamped wheel and extend the measuring device. If discrepancies with the readings of the ruler are noticeable, calibrate it according to the instructions.
  4. During operation, the device turns itself off - most likely, a microcrack has appeared in the board. The part needs to be replaced.

Make the unit yourself

The following is a way to make a simple do-it-yourself balancing machine:

  1. A motorcycle wheel is installed between a pair of identical racks. The construction will require wooden blocks, a brace, a segment of the brand,center plate, ball bearing and bearing seat, support, base, wing-type fixing nut.
  2. The main racks are made of steel, a 32 mm semicircle is cut out in the upper part, where a ball bearing is mounted. It is insured by two plates with semicircular cutouts, fixed on three screws with nuts. The center panel is supported by a pair of braces.

The base is a 30x50 cm 5mm steel sheet screwed to wooden bars (3x4 cm). The whole structure is fastened with T-sections 135 mm long. The principle of operation is identical to the centering of bicycle wheels.
