So, how to feed the beets? The preparation of the soil for it should begin in the fall. To do this, manure is scattered over the area where this crop will be planted in the spring, and then the soil is dug up. Agronomists consider such an event mandatory. Manure for digging is the main type of feeding of this crop. Fertilization during the growing season is also necessary. However, in this case, this process is considered optional.

There is another answer to the question of how to feed beets. Together with manure in the fall, mineral fertilizers should also be used on the site under it. best choiceat the moment there will be phosphorus-potassium. Nitrogen fertilizers, for example, sodium nitrate, are used in the spring, just before planting. Sodium nitrate, by the way, is one of the most preferred top dressings for beets. This culture absorbs a lot of sodium during growth. At the same time, you can use boron top dressing. They, like nitrogen ones, are more often introduced into the soil. But if you wish, you can simply process the seeds with them.

Feeding beets during the growing season is also carried out mostly with mineral fertilizers. Particularly important in this regard is the period from the second half of July to the beginning of August. This is just the time when beets actively develop root crops. In order for them to grow strong and tasty, it is worth fertilizing the beets with ammonium nitrate and superphosphate. The same two types of dressings are sometimes used at the initial stage of growth, but only if there is a visible delay in the development of plants.

At the same time, it is important not only to know how to feed the beets, but also how to do it. The roots of this plant, and even if it is weakened, should not be touched. Therefore, fertilizers are applied in the grooves made on both sides of the rows.

Their depth should be 4 cm. They are placed at a distance of 7 cm from the rows of beets. Superphosphate is added to one of the grooves, and s altpeter is added to the second. The latter, if absent, can be replaced with urea. Next, the grooves are closed and the garden is watered.

In the event that for any reason you do notif you want to feed this crop with mineral fertilizers, you can use ordinary ash. It is brought in a glass per meter of row. You can use this fertilizer during any growing season. A good solution would also be the use of bird droppings (110) or mullein (18). The application rate in this case is 1 liter per meter of row.

No less important than top dressing is the watering of beets. This culture is undemanding in this regard. However, in order for the plants to receive all the nutrients they need, they need to be watered at least once a week. At the same time, the beds are flooded very strongly. It is best to use warm water. The frequency of watering should be increased to 3 per week in hot weather.
