In addition, the significant content of resin in the composition of wood suggests the presence of healing properties in it.

All precious wood species are beautiful in their own way, and ironwood is far from an exception. The original arrangement and structure of its fibers form a rather expressive greenish-brown pattern. In addition, in the case of even a minimal turn in bright light conditions, the polished backout wood is endowed with a radiant effect, which cannot but lead to delight. Ironwood is not afraid of water at all, and also has a very pleasant smell, reminiscent of incense and cocoa.

Precious wood species: ebony

Ebony wood is considered the most expensive in the world (more than 100,000 dollars per cubic meter). This tree grows mainly on the African continent, in South India and Ceylon. It should be noted that its appearance is more like a shrub. This can be argued by a relatively small height of 10 meters and a small trunk diameter.

The story goes that the ancient Egyptians equated ebony with gold and ivory. Such a comparison was not without reason, because the raw material is endowed with truly unique properties: black color, high density and hardness, smooth achievement of a mirror finish by polishing, a high level of water resistance, and the possibility of easy processing.

It has long been believed that certain valuable breedswood, which includes ebony, have magical healing properties. So, poisons lost their power, getting into ebony dishes, and tinctures with the addition of this type of raw material affected a person like an elixir of youth. Today, ebony is widely used in furniture, jewelry and inlay work, as well as in construction and interior decoration.

Popular ebony variety

Makassar is an array of valuable wood species that grows in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Its height, as a rule, reaches 20 meters, and the diameter of the trunk is about seventy. The wood has a dark brown color, which is characterized by the presence of stripes of one of the colors presented. The texture of the raw material is very pleasant to the touch, however, Macassar is particularly durable and has exquisite decorative properties that are visually noticeable only after high-quality processing.

This variety of ebony is ideal for a variety of carvings and turnings as it is less brittle and less prone to chipping than similar woods. It is important to note that the processing of macassar often causes some difficulties, which implies the obligatory implementation of the relevant recommendations by the craftsmen, resulting in a hard and fairly smooth surface of the product being developed.

This should include the formation of carved and turningproducts, cabinetry (for example, interior decoration through the use of wood, which is complex), inlay, veneer production, as well as the manufacture of various products of a decorative nature.

Snake Tree

The heaviest tree in the world is the Moraceae family. The snake tree sinks freely in water, like a stone, which distinguishes it from similar representatives of the world of flora. Bog oak

The history of bog oak is particularly mysterious, because nature has been working on the creation of a unique material for thousands of years. The extraction of this type of wood is made from the depths of rivers and swamps, provided that a very unusual representative of the world of flora grew in these places millennia ago. Almost all elements of the interior of palaces were actively made from it. Merbau

Modern production is characterized by the ability to produce a wide variety of valuable wood products, thanks to which society has the opportunity to enjoy the comfort and decorative properties of unique interior elements, as well as tools. The final link in a number of the most valuable species is the merbau, a tree that grows in Malaysia and Indonesia. It is endowed with an orange-brown core and decorative patterns on the tangential cuts.

The physical characteristics of wood are undoubtedly pleasing: high hardness, weight and density, in a dry state equal to 830 kg/m3. In addition, the raw materials are worthythe level of resistance to moisture and all kinds of mechanical damage. The texture of the wood is quite large, yet uniform.
