The Moscow Metro is rapidly expanding beyond the Moscow Ring Road. There are cars on automatic control, the scheme of new Moscow metro stations is constantly updated.
What has already been done and which metro stations are already open
Last year it was planned to open, perhaps, the most long-awaited metro stations: Lermontovsky Prospekt and the continuation of the Krasnopresnensko-Taganskaya line - Zhulebino.
Deputy Mayor Marat Khusnullin promised to open them by September 1, 2013, but the dates were pushed back.
At the moment, we are talking about the implementation of the planned projects regarding the metropolitan metro this year.
Moscow has suspended the construction of new stations, and it is not yet known how soon they will open.
In addition to Lermontovsky Prospekt and Zhulebino, in December 2013 it was planned to open Pobedy Park on the Solntsevsko-Kalininskaya line and Lesoparkovaya, as well as the Delovoy Tsentr and Bitsevsky Park metro stations located on Butovo line.
Also in 2013 it was planned to open a secondthe exit of the Baumanskaya station, but later it was decided to abandon this project, since it was too costly. The new Moscow metro will not appear on the metro map soon.
In the fourth quarter of 2013, the question arose of what the new trains would look like: the Moscow metro held a tender in which the Siemens concern and the Russian Machines industrial holding, which had specially united for this project, decided to take part.
You can already see Siemens Inspiro trains now: luminous lines in the doors react to the loading of cars, information screens, illumination at foot level, additional folding seats, through passages through cars and so on.
Uralvagonzavod also took part in the tender together with the Bombardier concern and others. The total cost of the tender is 300 billion rubles, for which it is planned to supply and maintain 2,500 railcars.
Turntiles will accept cards
In the fall of 2013, the turnstiles of some stations were equipped with a system that reads payWave Visa bank cards, that is, it is possible to simply lean the card against the turnstile reader and go through. A similar system is already in place at Sheremetyevo Airport, where cards can be used to pay for Aeroexpress travel. We remind you that now in the Moscow metro with the help of bank cards it is only possible to buy a ticket in the machine.
New Troika features
Starting from December 2013, the changes will also affect the Troika electronic card. As a result, its replenishment will becomepossible not only in terminals and subway machines, but also via the Internet, mobile applications, through some ATMs or SMS messages. It will be possible to check the balance of the card or block it by the short number 3210. These innovations will make using Troika more convenient and safe.
Problems and prospects of the metro in 2014
The Moscow Mayor's Office has repeatedly raised the issue of solving the problem of heavy traffic congestion, and one of the solutions is a more extensive network of metro lines. Today, this issue is as relevant as ever, you can already see how intensively Moscow is building the metro. New stations in 2014 have already begun their full operation and several more are waiting to be launched.
This year, the changes will affect the Timiryazevsko-Serpukhovskaya line, which is one of the most problematic, since it is here that power grid breakdowns and fires quite often occur.
In 2014-2015, all trains will be replaced with new Oka models, which now run on the gray line.
New metro stations Kotelniki and Spartak
The Spartak station, planned to be launched back in the 1970s, has been frozen for 30 years. Finally, the opening of new stations will take place in May this year. In Moscow, new stations in 2014 are located between Tushinskaya and Shchukinskaya.
This year the Kotelniki station behind Lermontovsky Prospekt and the station in the northernparts of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line: Fonvizinskaya, Butyrskaya, Okruzhnaya, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya, Seligerskaya and Verkhnie Likhobory.
Besides, the red line will be extended, "South-West" will no longer be the final one. Behind it will be built "Salaryevo", "Rumyantsevo" and "Troparevo". As a result, the Salaryevo metro station will be located already outside the Moscow Ring Road, namely between the village of Salaryevo and the Kyiv highway, that is, on the territory of the New Moscow.
New stations will be equipped with Wi-Fi
Until the third quarter of 2014, Wi-Fi will start working in all metro lines. At the moment, wireless Internet is installed only on the short Kakhovskaya line, but in the near future it is planned to install it on the Koltsevaya, Sokolnicheskaya and Kalininskaya lines. It is planned that all new metro stations in Moscow will be equipped with Wi-Fi, while the transmission speed will be about 50 Mbps per train.
There will be no more tickets for 1 and 2 trips
This year there will be another important change for the Moscow metro. New 2014 stations will not accept old tickets. Paper tickets with denominations for 1 and 2 trips will disappear from the machines and ticket offices of the metro, so you can pay for the fare either with the “United” with a large number of trips, or with the “Troika” card, or purchase a “90 minutes” ticket.
Officials explain this by the fact that it is necessary to reduce the queues at the box office. However, popular tickets for one and two trips should have been withdrawn from sale back in 2013, but Muscovites were so outraged that the date was postponed twice.
This initiative andnow seems unbelievable to many. There are some nice changes too. Already in the spring of this year, the Troika card can be used to pay for car parking and bike rental.
Northern lobby to be opened at VDNKh
By the third quarter of 2014, it is planned to open the northern lobby of the VDNKh metro station, which was closed in June 2013 to replace escalators, upgrade engineering networks, repair ventilation, turnstiles and the ticket hall. At the moment, the station is experiencing hard times. The northern exit leading to the All-Russian Exhibition Center was the most convenient and popular, so now the load on the only exit has increased significantly.
In 2015, the Moscow Metro will start purchasing new trains from the company that wins the announced tender. These trains will be, as you know, "fundamentally new", namely with the possibility of a through passage through the composition, with automatic seats that will fold and remove during rush hour. Also, the new trains are equipped with retractable ramps, which can be used by the disabled without any problems.
Also, the plans for the arrangement of metro stations include the creation of a new lighting system that will respond to the intensity of natural light and will change depending on the current time of day, the installation of screens to help passengers find the right direction, and even the creation of cars on automatic management, that is, when moving, they will not need a driver. But, according to Alexander Weisburd, head of the rolling stock service, employees will still be around and watching.
Besides this, the trains will move almost silently, the doors will be slightly clamped, and the air conditioners will really work. On which lines the new trains will appear, it is not clear now, but it is known for sure that in 2015 the changes will affect the Zamoskvoretskaya line, where the trains will be replaced by the new Oka train model.
New metro stations will stretch to Khimki
According to the plans for the development of the metro, in a year the construction of stations extending the Zamoskvoretskaya line in the north direction should be completed: Dybenko Street and Belomorskaya Street, as well as the Technopark metro station, which is located on the map between Avtozavodskaya and "Kolomenskaya" metro stations. Moscow is looking forward to the construction of new stations. If this project is implemented as planned, it will be another successful step to unload the transport network of the capital.
New stations in 2014 will be opened on the western direction of the Solntsevo-Kalininskaya line ("Lomonosovsky Prospekt", "Minskaya", "Ramenki" and "Kozhukhovskaya"), in the southeast ("Nekrasovka", "Kosino", " Kosino-Ukhtomskaya” and “S altykovskaya street”).
In 2015, the first section of the third interchange circuit will be launched, including the Petrovsky Park, Khoroshevskaya, Nizhnyaya Maslovka, Khodynskoye Pole, Delovoy Tsentr and Shelepikha stations. Also in 2015, a new light metro line will be launched in Khimki - Moscow Region and Sheremetyevo Airport.
What changes await the Moscowsubway in the near future?
On the Krasnopresnensko-Taganskaya line, old trains will be replaced with Oka brand trains. In addition, the construction of five stations on the Kozhukhovskaya line, located in the south-east of Moscow, should be completed by 2016. New metro stations in Moscow are Nizhegorodskaya Ulitsa, Aviamotornaya, Okskaya Ulitsa, Stakhanovskaya and Ferganskaya Ulitsa. The construction of the Third interchange circuit will continue.
By 2017, the third interchange circuit will be commissioned. If all its stations are built, then another metro ring (Moscow) will turn out. New stations in 2014 will be opened in the west of the Solntsevo-Kalinin line: Ochakovo, Solntsevo, Tereshkovo, Novoperedelkino, Borovskoye Highway, Michurinsky Prospekt, Rasskazovka - the latter will be the final one and will be opened in the same name village. Previously, it was about extending the line to Vnukovo Airport, but at the last review, Sobyanin said that there were no such plans now. The length of the Solntsevo-Kalininskaya line is about 26 km - it will be the longest metro line (Moscow). New stations in 2014 will undoubtedly become a sought-after object for the nearest suburbs. So, now let's see what other prospects for the construction of the Moscow metro await the population of the capital.
The Moscow metro map will change. New stations will be launched in the next 12 years
The construction of the Moscow metro is one of the top priorities for the capital in the coming years.
Despite the fact that the metro in Moscow has already grown quite a lot, new stations in 2014 are constantly appearing onmetro map, this trend will continue for the next few years.
By 2018, the construction of the Solntsevo-Kalininskaya line will be completed, which will be supplemented by the central stations Volkhonka, Tretyakovskaya, Kutuzovsky Prospekt and Plyushchikha.
The project should complete the construction of a chord line running parallel to the Kaluga highway - this is the New Moscow area - from 2 to 5 stations (the final data is different) to Kommunarka, from which they are trying to make a parliamentary center, and very unsuccessfully. The line is at the design stage, and no drastic measures are foreseen regarding it. New metro stations in Moscow in this direction will not appear soon.
In 2020, it is planned to purchase 3,000 new cars. Considering that now the new metro in Moscow has a total of 4,500 cars, this will be a renewal of most of the rolling stock.
In 12 years, the light metro will come to the suburbs
Officials promised that metro lines would run through all major cities in the Moscow region. New metro stations in Moscow will be located at the following locations: Sheremetyevskoye, Kryukovo, Zheleznodorozhny, Pushkino, Lyubertsy, Balashikha, Podolsk, Domodedovo, Nakhabino and Odintsovo. The most unlucky city in this regard is Mytishchi, since for several years they have not been able to decide on the feasibility of building a branch. The opening of a new metro in Moscow in this direction could significantly relieve commuter electric trains, which carry a huge number of passengers every day.
For the last timeThe Moscow Mayor's Office decided to abandon the construction of the Mytishchi metro station. It is believed that this will lead to a serious collapse.
